Solar is not "heat" and stasis is is not "cold."
Solar is nuclear fusion, what stars run on. Hence, solar.
Stasis is harder to explain. It is well, stasis. It is an ability that stops. The shutdown causes such icy crystals to form.
I'm pretty sure, anyway. But I know that solar is fusion.
D1 lore cards say Solar: The universe is defined by fundamental forces. Energy is carried by quanta, tiny messengers of change. In the understanding of these messengers lies the secret of Solar Light. Change is the basis for solar. While Stasis is crystalline according to Bungie. Cold and unchanging. An opposite to the hot and ever changing of Solar. Void was recently referred to as gravity in a bounty from Crow, as well as linked to death and the vacuum. Arc has been linked to life energy and the binding of matter. Life and death, binding and breaking (vacuum). The common theme is opposites.

From Goddard space flight centre
Although many cosmic ices are dominated by H2O, they also contain "prebiotic" molecules such as CO, CO2, CH4, NH3, and CH3OH.
Even cosmic ice contains H20 in the form of amorphous ice.

In the game Stasis is referred to as a crystalline. The main idea is that it is opposite to Solar. Solar is change. (Real simplified, the lore doesn’t dive deep in the cosmic forces) Stasis is unchanging.
