That’s your problem.
It’s not a shutdown super, and supers are SUPPOSED to be overpowered.
They’re supers.

When I activate my supper at the same time as someone else does using Tether and they hit me with Tether. You're saying it doesn't shut my super down? because that is exactly what Tether does. Edit: Or are you saying while I'm in my super it doesn't shut it down?

See sonjalovestyson's post. He/she gets it. Bungie has tuned the super because they want that version of it used as a SUPPORT super in PVE. Not as a team-wiping PANIC button in pvp. I got to experience it being used that way in Destiny 1s Crucible and it was obnoxious. Bungie clearly felt the same way because they've made sure (for the entire life of D2) that you can't really use it that way anymore in PVP.

How can you use tether as a trap when on the bottom of the screen it tells when someone use a super? Only new players would fall for that trick. And what is the difference between panicking with nova bomb and thunder crash then tether?
-
TheArtistにより編集済み: 10/14/2020 7:20:23 PMOh, there are much more creative...and annoying...ways to use that super. ...and the difference, as I said in another post....is counterplay. There is basically no counter play once that Hunter goes into his activation animation. He gets an immunity screen. So you can't defeat him by bursting him down. ...and you can't move fast enough to get outside of the area that will be effected if you're inside of it. ...and instead of simply killing you instantly, it leaves you paralyzed and helpless. Which is TILTING to the player having to deal with it. Which is why Bungie tuned the super so that its not very effective in PVP. People have complained about this for years...and Bungie does NOTHING about it...and its not on any list to do anything ABOUT. Bungie's silence is giving a very loud-and-clear answer: Working as intended.
-
Ya you do realize all those things you just listed about tether being "tilted" to go against is literally what nova bomb and thunder crash does to opponents, except it kills.
and really change something because it's "tilting" to go against? 🙄🙄
TheArtistにより編集済み: 10/14/2020 7:53:46 PMI'm making perfect sense. The issue is two incompatible perspectives. But that is the problem in this community around PVP. Everyone wants to argue to gain advantage for their play style or their favorite toy....and never stop to think about what the experience of having to play AGAINST that toy is like. I've experienced playing against that super when it was tuned the way some of you are asking for....and the experience was **oppressive**. Bungie clearly felt the same because that super has NEVER been returned to that state....and Bungie has said NOTHING to indicate that they ever plan to. The super is working as they intended it to. As a SUPPORT super in a PVE-oriented build. Not as a team-wiping shutdown super that you can fire into a crowd from halfway accross the map.

First of I'm a titan my favorite toy is a hammer, Second I also went against tether in d1 and wasn't bad at all, you are overacting. Like I said before sounds like someone got their super turn off waaay to much

TheArtistにより編集済み: 10/14/2020 8:17:01 PMThen let me put this in terms that a Sunbreaker will get. When Sunbreaker subclass was added to the game back in Destiny 1 with The Taken King....it was straight up BROKEN it was so overpowered. You could combine traits such that you were healed when you got a kill with the super..got damage resistance......,and that the hammers would exploded and do massive AoE. The super was so broken that the Titan was basically UNKILLABLE in a PVP setting when it was active....and you barely had to aim it. So you would routinely see Titans run into a room....pop their super...and then start spamming their hammers in a circle. without bothering to even aim them. Why bother when you didn't have to. They were so unkillable that the only "counterplay" was to RUN when you heard the super pop. They so dominated play that most 6v6 matches came down to who had the most Sunbreakers on theri side.....and if roughly equal, who had the last super near the end the of the match. I knew that this thing HAD to be nerfed when I waded into a room and popped my super 1v6....and had a Stormcaller which was the second most powerful super in the game at teh time pop his super at the same time. I stood in that room and killed FIVE of the six people on that fire team WHILE the Stormcaller was trying to burn me down with his super at the same time. The only reason it wasn't a complete team WIPE is that I'd run out of things to kill and heal myself when I finally turned on the Stormcaller...so he was FINALLY able to burn me down before I could manage to finish him off. THAT gives you a sense of how oppressive Shadowshot is to play against when its allowed to be a PVP shutdown super.

And there it is...the oh-so-predictable case of the vapors Kelly gets when someone attacks him right after Kelly attacks them. I mean, this is a truly special kind of condescending, snyde, arrogance. Of course, his statements are 100% factual, logical perfection, so when he goes ad hominem and belittles intelligence, don't make the mistake of believing he's employing a logical fallacy as a substitute for a valid argument; It's just one of the perks he's entitled to as an utterly superior being.
So the super that's purpose is to shut down supers is the one super that should not be super? Super.
It's not it's purpose but an ability the super can do if used as a trap and not in a panic when running away from a roaming super.
-
That’s your problem. It’s not a shutdown super, and supers are SUPPOSED to be overpowered. They’re supers.
They're supers? You really wrote that last part without a hint of irony? So how many titans have you killed while they're casting their bubble? How many warlocks have you killed 2 seconds after they've dropped well of radiance? None? Shut up. You're an idiot.
