Have you ever played a true MMO? Be thankful we got this stuff for as long as we did, in a true MMO your stuff you worked pretty much all expansion for becomes outdated come the new expansion

A real mmo expansion adds a lot -blam!-ing more than something like shadow keep you can’t compare d2 to an mmo and say we are lucky I’d take a gear reset every major expansion of bungie wasn’t lazy and inept at delivering an mmo sized expansion

While the statement about MMO'S is true, it is also true that unlike MMO'S, destiny doesn't add massive expansions that pretty much render older content useless, if anything, new content piggybacks the -blam!- out on old activities. So please, stop trying to make this argument, destiny doesn't have the correct systems or content to make it.

Dunno about Taken King (cus I didn't play d1) and i'm not saying either of those expansions are bad, they're simply not comparable in quantity of content to most mainstream mmo expansions. The problem is, destiny franchise thrives on the starvation of their players, you're starving for long periods of time and when they finally give you a crumb most people feel like its the next big thing when most of the time its not. Don't get me wrong, forsaken was great and to this date its probably the best expansion in the destiny franchise , but its also an exception and one that came after awful expansions and content, hence, the players were starving and was still very dependant on old content.

...Crude obscure analogy aside, my point stands. Taken King was revolutionary and Forsaken had great storytelling, something happening every week, a changing world, and just great content, music and visuals all around. What mmo had better moment to moment gameplay than Forsaken? Please don't say WoW because I'll laugh.

Guess you're gonna laugh then, WoW, FFXIV and Guild Wars come to mind. I'd cite more obscure examples but those are probably not relevant today (as in the popularity of the mmo has waned) and those are the only ones I've played (except for lineage 2 which had amazing expansions, although its largely irrelevant today). Like I said, forsaken had its moments definitely, but still had to rely heavily on existing content.

They're different experiences, hence why destiny cannot be compared to an MMO. Both WoW and FF are way more social, the gameplay is simplified (not being an fps) but that allows for more massive events, the best we can do in destiny is 12 people and that's only during specific crucible modes. Destiny 2 raids are great, its definitely the high point of the franchise, also they can be more mechanically involved given how you have much fewer people in the activity, in contrast, the raids from mmo's, rely heavily on team effort and organization and less on mechanics (although they do have these). Here is truly a matter of taste more than anything.
