It’s not pop psychology... and I wasn’t kidding about how invisible contracts create VICTIM narratives that RUIN relationships. The ruin relationships because they allow people to AVOID having to look at or take responsibility for their role in a failing relationship and wrap themselves in victimhood instead. I’ve already told Bungie that putting this on the roadmap was a mistake. To his credit, dmg has shown the maturity and professionalism, to try to wade into this swamp of immaturity and entitlement to try to extract a lesson from it. And I’m trying to reward that Herculean effort of PATIENCE on his part. But I’m a not going to stand here and watch people throw temper tantrums and pretend that this is all on Bungie. People are mad because they EXPECTED things that Bungie never promised. Bungie never agreed to. And if you make even the TINIEST effort to see things from their point of view, quickly get seen as unreasonable. Cause ya know what you get when one party takes responsibility for their role in a bad relationship, and the other party just blames the first party for why it’s a bad relationship? [b]A relationship that stays bad.[/b] Because they one who insist on playing victim never deals with their contribution to the problems. Telling yourself that your an innocent victim feels good, but it is almost never the reality in the ground.
