At least in D1 overleveling meant something. Enemies did less to you and you did more damage. in D2 enemies do the same damage to you wether you're at their level or higher. and the extra damage you do is far less.

I agree. I see a lot of the Bungie apologists don’t understand what ‘we’ mean when we talk about ‘power fantasy’. Power in Destiny 2 only works one way, if I’m 50 power levels below an enemy, then it’s immune to every single attack in my arsenal. However, a lv.1 Dreg in the EDZ can kill a lv.50 Guardian at 650 Power just as fast as it can a lv.1 Guardian at 10 Power.

I'm not a Bungie apologist. I was pointing out that D2's power level means nothing beyond what content your allowed to do. Versus D1 where your light level actually did something beyond allowing you to play content. I'm fully aware of what power fantasy is.
