If you increase zoom then they have to make bigger maps. If you increase all of the aiming times people will just camp and it will be boring. Personally I have no issues with sniping it's self. The amount of special ammo could use some tweaking but you should definitely have some on spawn because not every engagement is suited for a primary. For instance in pvp if I have sniper ammo on my chest and boots I spawn with 12 rounds allowing me to take more risky shots and effectively use it as a primary. That is excessive but it's part of the game. Like I said learn and adapt. If people are sniping rush with side arms and wreck them

And why should it be unless you're amazing with it. Right now anything beyond 10 feet is a "sniper lane" and every single map in the game is a sniper map. Widows court, shores of time, black shield should be shield maps. Not thieves den while standing at top heavy looking at the bottom door 15 feet away. That should barely be possible, if at all.

The whole point of the zoom increase, is to curb close range effectivity. Maps are big enough already, the problem is close range sniping.
That's also why I listed... 7(?) options?
As I said, if nobody has access to snipers early on, you have to use your primary. So obviously those ranges are then suited for primaries.

I'm top 1% in terms of score per game average in Control and ranked 1500th in Rift.
I don't even play 3vs3 modes as I find them obnoxious.
And just because something is part of the current rule set (spawn with special ammo), doesn't mean that this has to stay like it is.
