And don't give me that crap about how they require skill. Thanks to bullet magnetism/aim assist and the broken hit boxes on player heads, You need only aim toward the players body and pull upward. It is too easy to aim at a doorway or choke point in game modes like Skirmish and Elimination where a head will appear and press RT/R2. Whenever I use a sniper, I pretty much know I'm going to do well against any player that isn't running a sniper. Even in close range, If you have Snap shot+Ambush, you simply aim in fast toward a players body, pull up, and aim assist will do the rest. It is too easy for players who would be trash at sniping in any other game to do good.
Add scope sway and remove aim assist and bullet magnetism from snipers and men will be separated from boys. As it stands now, games consist of nothing but head camping.
Edit: It also doesn't help that the hit box for player heads Is bigger than it should be. I'm pretty sure we're all guilty of shooting inches away from a enemy head and getting the kill. Another issue and while it may be more of gameplay issue, it certainly makes Sniper Rifles even more scary.

There is no bullet magnetism, and aim assist only works by holding the point of aim on the head for slightly longer than it normally would-which is really only useful for dragscoping, which is somewhat difficult. However, I do agree that hardscoping is a problem because it requires no skill, and doesn't actually improve a player

1 返信YungThugAlexにより編集済み: 12/31/2015 7:34:33 PMIt really is after I reach rank 5 in iron banner I'm quiting destiny until I hear a announcement that they're nerfing snipers. Shit is ridiculous wasn't anything like this when the game first came out.

46 通の返信If you have an issue with getting sniped too much maybe you should just stop run and gunning through areas that snipers line up on. If you hit a sniper before he gets his shot off the camera shake is unbearable. Sniping is not easy street. If it was everyone would do it.

3 通の返信I do think sniper rifles need a slight tweaking. Perhaps in the form of sway, increased stagger and/or de-scoping when hit (my preference), or reduced ammo capacity.

1 返信Add de scope after a certain dmg threshold, sniper still has a chance but atleast some risk, anyone who says sniping isn't easy is lying to themselves Sincerely, a fellow marksman

1 返信Sniping is the -blam!-ing worst and it's ruining this game and I'm about to be done forever with it.

3 通の返信Amen! All game modes have turned into people hardscoping doors and hallways so they can get "sick snipes" bro please. Destiny just turned into the worst pvp fps with the little amount of gunskill required, its a game that is made to give scrubs a chance. With shotguns nerfed and no one having any primary gunskill all people do is camp and hardscope, and no spamming the left trigger before a kill doesnt make it a quickscope! Its ridiculous that a sniper has enough aim assist to shoot itself add that to hardscoping and waiting for someone to cross your path, you cant miss. Thats why destiny will never be a comp. game. Destiny needs to take resniping out of the game completely aswell because all people do in trials is hardscope a hallway snipe a kid crossing it camp the orb, 50% of all kills in trials are res kills.

7 通の返信Funny when everyone used other obvious op weapons it was 'lose your crutch scrub' now that it's snipers dominating it's 'it requires skill scrub'. Guess that's why 10 out of 12 players will have a sniper in IB huh? So much skill.... So little diversity in which sniper is seen.

6 通の返信They just need to bring shotguns back to the way they were before this last patch. Carrying a shotgun slows your movement speed down, makes it slower to aim and shoot. Not to mention it was nerfed in the range again to where a warlock melee has better reach and damage. So I think snipers should act the same. They should slow you down while carrying them. You should take longer to aim, and rate of fire should be decreased across all snipers. They can't take a dump on one secondary making it virtually useless while leaving the other untouched.

2 通の返信Aim assist doesn't effect a gun that heavily. You can't hit someone around a corner with aim assist or through walls. The reticle has too be very close to their head.
-
1 返信I said this once and imma say it again, snipers wouldn't even be as popular as they are if ppl like yourself didn't get the other guns nerfed. Stop being so damn childish, you do realize that a sniper nerf would make the raid a bit harder now? Snipers do play a part in the raid and yet because you can't handle getting killed over and over by a sniper in pvp you want it nerfed. You -blam!-ing pvp cry babies are all -blam!-ing annoying like the jehovah witnesses that come to my damn door. Go away.

I only agree that they are getting out of hand. That's because Bungie nerfed shotguns, and fusions, and sidearms were never very good to begin with. It takes skill to snipe, but right now it's pretty much the only viable option for high end stuff
-
2 通の返信The issue isn't that snipers are OP or too good; the issue is that Bungie has repeatedly "balanced" weapons. In doing so, every "balance" has simply taken more damage away from weapons than it gives. Snipers will always be a OHK to the head and two to the body. That's something that should never change. If Bungie reverted their weapons back to Vanilla stat lines and then made subtle changes from there, this conversation would be dead and gone. PVP cannot have a weapon or weapon class used by the vast majority. Fusions are dead. Shotguns are much less effective in intended ranges. Pulses were so supreme that no one understands how to use them now. Hand canons now frustrate the user more than the victims. It's a broken system that the devs continue to break. Weapons should not be consistently weakened. I forget which game this quote is from but "Never balance down, always balance up. A player doesn't want to ever feel weaker, they always want to be more powerful." That's the type of logic needed in this game.

5 通の返信Good sniping is essential in competitive 3v3 playlists. Being able to down someone and control a body early is key. Aim assist is on every single thing in the game including sticky grenades. It's part of the game. I use a 1k but I don't drag scope for a lucky aim assist headshot. I aim for the face directly and pull the trigger. The hit box for heads is big, I will agree to that. Also the frequent lag in this game causes issues when sniping sometimes it's in your favor but the majority of the time the lag causes shots to just roll off like a water drop. It all comes down to map knowledge and situational awareness. Also if some one is beating you on certain lanes don't challenge the same way more than twice. If you do predictable shit every time, especially when the other team has quicker access to a certain spot your just giving them the easy kill. Learn, adapt and practice. If you want to -blam!- up snipers really bad, slide through doorways to cover, sprint against the cover and then slide out and to a new lane or vantage point. It works well for me 80% of the time.

1 返信gallp13により編集済み: 12/30/2015 2:20:27 PMDon't snipe as I have no skill. However I say you have your facts wrong. "Bullet magnetism" is how you justify your frequent deaths to snipers due to your poor game play. Sniper can't kill you if you don't give him and easy target. Name the sniper and the aim assist that you feel accounts for this so called "bullet magnetism". Let's see whether you know the actual aim assist to justify your claim. I say put up or its shenanigans ;)

The only thing ive found that needs corrected and it's absolutely hilarious is the silly hit box. The bullet does not curve or have some sort of tracking but the game believes everyone is on big head mode or something.
