The night fall is considered top-tier aka end game, you are not locked from previous content. Only the higher lvl versions.

You really think there's going to be a lv. 32 nightfall next week? No, we already know that there won't be, it'll be lv 40. Anyone who doesn't buy ttk will not get to lv 40, and are therefore locked out of that content.

No the nightfall is endgame content so therefore you must buy the dlc to access said content. You can still do the lvl 32 strikes you have already paid for. You are losing only the rewards and benefits of end game content. If you want the benefits of the dlc then buy it or be quiet.

Why does it have to be exclusive to people who buy everything that Bungie wants to sell? Why can't there be multiple nightfall strikes, different versions that are relevant to different DLCs? It's entirely possible for Bungie to make new DLC and reward those players who purchase it, without deliberately punishing those who don't purchase it. The fact that they are deliberately punishing people who don't purchase the new DLC, even if they've already paid over a hundred bucks last year for the previous content, indicates that they are trying to force people to buy the new content. They are creating a de facto subscription service and charging full "fixed pricing model" kinds of prices for it. That is unethical, and it should not be supported.
