But in Hitlers own mind, it was just. Keep in mind he was on a lot of medication, and essentially going crazy. He probably thought he was God incarnate.
He used science as a means for war, and genocide, basically. But the blame solely rests on his shoulders. Anything can be used for evil. Religion. Science. Good morals. It can all be twisted and construed for evil.
Essentially, OP is half right, from a psychological standpoint. Hitler believed what he was doing was right, just, Holy, and doing the biological world a favor. His claims were supported by [url=http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law]-godwinslaw!-[/url] scientists, many of which were likely just as deluded, or feared for their lives and the lives of their families.
But even with all that in mind, it doesn't make if right.
