The topic made by open carry has shown me much of the flood believes that a knife makes a good self defence weapon. You're wrong. A knife, for one, is a tool. Second, as a weapon, it's most effective on the attack. The above video shows you what a real knife attack would look like. This method of attack has proven to have an extremely low rate of succesful defence. Running away is the only method that provides a survival rate over 10 percent. If your attacker is bent on hurting/ killing you, defending yourself is unlikely to happen. If you're the guy bent on killing someone else, YOU'RE STILL WRONG.
Drawing your knife on someone to ward them off from an un-armed conflict is another thing I saw some members say that they would do. THIS IS A TERRIBLE THING TO DO. As you guys have already recognised, knives are lethal weapons, all you've done here is put someone in the position to take action to save their life- That might mean making sure that you're not alive to kill them. If your attacker is bent on harming you, all you've done is invite them to use a weapon of their own, and so some of you carry a 10 inch bowie around with you, how's that going to help you if your attacker gets his hands on something even larger and heavier? Such as a crowbar... or a car.
DO NOT attempt to defend yourself with a knife unless you've already exhausted other methods such as escaping. Please don't be a fool, you'll get yourself deaded yo.

This is why I am a huge fan a Krav Maga. It is all about channeling aggression into useful performance (i.e. throat tears, testicular explosion, brain trauma).

That's right. We should hurt people with scissors now.

I brought a knife to a gun fight and was the only one who got out alive. GOML.
