Destiny PvP: Ease of Use ≠ Balance

Let’s get one thing straight: making weapons easier to use is not the same as balancing them. The more Bungie leans into “accessibility” by flattening skill curves, the more it creates a false sense of competence among players—until they get absolutely rolled by a team better at camping, peeking, or holding hands. And then what happens? They scream “Balance!” as if the game owes them a win. Stop rewarding low-effort play. You want to actually add skill expression back into the sandbox? Introduce real recoil. Not the cosmetic kind—actual control mechanics that demand mastery. High-rate-of-fire weapons should get harder to manage the longer you hold the trigger. It’s a simple, effective system that practically every other shooter already uses. Bungie, for some reason, doesn’t. Instead, we’re spiraling down the “make all guns feel the same” rabbit hole. Weapon identity used to matter. Now it’s diluted. You already tossed class identity out the window—every subclass is everything at once. It's chaos. And now that Marathon is shelved, guess what? You’re coming back to your firstborn—the game that built your legacy and still deserves your best. So stop tuning the sandbox for players who don’t want to improve. This isn't about hours played—it’s about how you play. Skill should matter. Risk should be rewarded. And mastery should feel like mastery. Enough hand-holding.

You can only hold hands so far, I disagree with you. A player that has been all over this game since release, and knows all the in's and out's, shouldn't just be able to dumb on a new player, and run circles around them, in a way that renders the other player, completely ineffective. Also, it's just a game, you don't get a salary for any "skill" that you mentioned, so with all do respect, don't let it get to your head too much, a game is intended to be fun after all, applying recoil like you said, will get you killed in PVE pretty badly, especially with every shielded opponents being the equivalent of a walking tank, and harder content being as tedious as it is, with how the CPU adversaries attack, and the techniques they use, not to mentioned the already very narrow margin of error in higher difficulty content. Plus, you would end up hating the game, having to endure such appalling recoil, while shooting so many enemies.
