Never understood why people do that . Your loadout does not say anything about your playstyle ..
Some have the best loadout possible but they cannot hit their shots , rush in and die over and over .
I don't care what my teammates are using cause i don't judge , you can play however and with whatever you want , as long as they don't constantly die or leave as soon as they die once or try to rush but fail .
Shat happens but not constantly ...

I do it to check out which awesome ghost 👻 projection they have equipped.

Kinda jumping the gun by assuming OP is inspecting teammates in order to pass judgement on their playstyles. OP could be inspecting players who are using a weapon they don’t recognize or is sporting some new Ornament/Shader combo they’d like to replicate. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)
Your loadout does not say anything about your playstyle ..
If you play with a shotgun, I can expect you to play somewhat aggressively because shotguns benefit from a more aggressive playstyle. If you play with a sniper I know not to peek lanes because you'll probably be there, because snipers benefit from that kind of play style because they punish people that blindly peek lanes. This isn't true in 100% of cases, but it's happens enough that I know to be on the lookout for those things. Your load out might not inform people of everything about you, but it does give people a general idea of how you'll probably play, and that's why people check them.

Exactly. Having an at least informed guess of how someone is going to play can at least help plan out how to deal with the person. I had one trials match where 2 people on the enemy team had auto rifle and glaives on, so I figured both would be pushing, but instead, they decided to play range instead against scouts and pulses.

I check in orbit before the intro so I have more time to scroll on my phone. 😭 But yes totally agree

I think what he meant was that loadouts aren't indicative of general skill, because saying that loadouts don't say anything about your play style is kind of silly.
