It’s a very healthy and necessary change for the game to help combat the insane power creep with prismatic, they also significantly bumped a lot of weapons and abilities.
This is just so dps phases aren’t such a joke. So that the raids stay relevant and fun.

I don't recall Final Shape making my Void Titan any stronger, if anything Ward of Dawn received nerf. And Prismatic is like.. 5% weapon damage boost when the mini-Super is active?
-
Apply the changes to master or implement contest mode as new difficulty. Making normal raids and dungeons this restrictive is only annoying and will keep a lot of players from engaging in these activities.

Making it -5 doesn't make it fresh. Nothing will ever make a 4-5 year old raid feel fresh, because it's not fresh content, it's old content. All the -5 does is make it more tedious to do, and tedium isn't fun for the vast majority of people. Who cares if people are having fun and completing old raids more easily? Like fr why do you care? You're not going to play LW or GoS or DSC enough to make up for the people who aren't going to bother.

The change is about maintaining relevance with power creep Dps phases shouldn’t be a complete joke in end game content It should be something you have to pay attention to. And have a team effort not one or two people carrying everyone else It’s -5 Before everyone jumps on the hate train immediately You can’t buff everything constantly and never adjust the encounters, that’s not healthy, fun, or rewarding. Pantheon was a timed activity that had an end. That doesn't translate to something that never goes away. This community eats FOMO for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Pantheon was an entirely different activity than "raids in general" It's an apples or oranges comparison. Honestly, if they were gonna do this, they should've reset everyone's red borders, raid seals, solo flawless dungeons, etc, and torn away their progress too so you can experience the magic of going back and doing all this "relevant" content again at its new difficulty level. But again, most people who are for this change already did their hard stuff, so they don't care that it's different, and they don't help newer players through any of it. Go redo all your raid seals and solo flawless dungeons, and then regrind all your red borders, and then come back and tell me how much fun you had. Until then, all you are is a player who got the hard stuff done when it was easy, and now you're saying other players have to do it now that it's hard and somehow try to justify the notion that it's the same experience when it f*cking isn't. It's hypocrisy of the highest order. Datto isn't doing anymore solo flawless Warlords. Honestly, at this point forward, anyone who does a solo flawless Warlords is better than everyone who did before the change. Edit Oh yeah, and Pantheon always gave away guaranteed raid exotics and tons of red borders. Something the existing raids won't be doing at this difficulty level, so the not only are we doing week 1 Pantheon every time we raid, but we're getting garbage rewards by comparison.

It’s like DIM, charlemagne, d2foundry, d2checkpoint, Kyber, etc… Destiny has a LOT of community resources, people who work really hard to provide insane resources. How many people do you think content creators have taught and helped?
I’ve never understood the hate YouTubers receive on this form Yes it’s a job for them But for someone who loves to flex 500 sherpas Let’s take a look at the numbers Go look at all of Datto’s how to videos, where he teaches mechanics for dungeons and raids, go look at all the build crafting videos people like plunder or mactics put out constantly Destiny is honestly really lucky to have such a thriving community of content creators who put out so much. It’s like DIM, charlemagne, d2foundry, d2checkpoint, Kyber, etc… Destiny has a LOT of community resources, people who work really hard to provide insane resources. How many people do you think content creators have taught and helped? I think the real rage Is from people who do paid carry’s It’s literally -5 We aren’t talking about big hit here That’s the same amount players receive with shared fireteam light levels And there’s surges now Free additional damage.
I've taught people who watched those videos and he never updates them from his day 1 strats to incorporate new and more optimized stuff. -5 is 35% less damage you deal and +30% more damage being dealt to you. Surges help the one, but nothing helps the other since we've had resistance mods since before the change. Surges are 25% damage buff subtracting the fact that the best weapons won't be available all the time so you're doing suboptimal damage as a function of the surges being off meta. So it is not free additional damage. No matter what you do, you'll never be at even 0 light damage. You'll always be under. And the content creator community is 99% calling for nerfs and harder content than those content creators don't even play. Datto isn't doing GoS now that it's harder. He's not doing div runs to help people or anything like that. He just made the game worse for thousands of people, washed his hands of it, and walked away. D2 would be better if he shut up.

But the old raids aren’t relevant or fun with the new power cap, just restrictive to new players.

Ok, and that is your right. But lots of players I know are finding the new difficulty oppressive and reducing how much they raid not increasing it. So it might appeal to some sweaty players but will ultimately lead to less raiders which is a bad thing.
