Why does the Vanguard blindly believe everything they're told? The ghost doesnt need us to do anything to resurrect Savathun, just the body that the Vanguard are keeping hidden away.
Secondly everything that Eris Morn says after the ritual sounds exactly as if were Xivu Arath. Heck, the on going mission from that feed directly into it.
Yes, I heard what they said about Xivu Arath "getting what she wants". Definitely doesn't sound like Savathun.

It’s partially because the bargain Savathûn offered isn’t exactly beneficial to her alone, as many of her schemes entails. It is within our best interest to deal with Xivu Arath, the Hive God directly taking orders from the Witness, is fully aware of what we learned from Ahsa and is actively attempting to stop us. There’s also the fact that Savathûn is our only means of getting through the portal and Immaru is actively refusing to resurrect her until we deal with Xivu Arath. He knows damn well we can’t kill him. Place some faith in Eris. She’s dealt with Savathûn more than any of us.

4 RespuestasEris has become a separate Hive God, she is not channeling Savvy or Xivu , she is the Hive God of Vengence, something that will directly foil Xivus leverage of mere war , and all signs point to her not coming back from this And Immaru has taken a liking to her, at the end of the season he may decide to forget Savathun and choose Eris( I know ghost don't typically do that, but nothing is concrete anymore) You are right about the Vanguard though, they don't think things through , like in Witch Queen after Ikora learned all these things about the Hive, she didn't stop to think it might be wise to offer an olive branch to the one enemy of the witness that is on his level , in power and paracausal ability , nope it was "durr kill Hive no matter the circumstances"

1 RespuestaThe Vanguard is gullible so the story can happen.

Probably because the script tells them to.

Poor writing

The Destiny2 player base is far more gullible than the Vanguard.

My theory is Eris will challenge Xivu and fail, but in doing so, will cause Xivu to doubt her beliefs and lose the will to fight. Honestly, I feel like Savathun could easily take her sister and yet she claims that she will only return after we deal with her sister. Who knows, maybe Eris will defeat Xivu, and then Savathun will resurrect both oryx and xivu in the light.
