I noticed yesterday that it actually mattered wheteher I had my highest piece if gear on me to ensure that I got the highest pinnacle drop possible. This hasn't been the case for some time and I just noticed it happening after the most recent patch so I'm wondering if it isn't a glitch that occured after the last patch. It's about 20 seconds into the clip that you can see the power level of a piece of gear on my season pass change from 1308 to 1309 and back again as I move a weapon around with dim. Anyway not sure if it was intended my guess would be no but it's also a heads up to everyone who may still be leveling to make sure that you transfer gear from now on until it's fixed or not....
Edit:To save further debate whether I am wrong about it being able to be on another charcter or not this is me tranfering from vautl to character and back not between characters.

1 RespuestaI never broke the habit of equipping my highest gear.
-
I do it for organization purposes. Otherwise I end up with stuff I don’t need
-
As there is a lot of misinformation posted on here, the "new" way of levelling up has been in Destiny 2 from the very beginning folks. That's right, 3 and a half years already. In short, it should not matter where your highest weapons and class specific armour are, equipped or not equipped makes no difference. If this has stopped working like that then it is a bug. Here is Bungies original TWAB from way back in August 2017, the section is Go Grab Some Big Guns https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/46226

1 RespuestaJust have highest gear with you. On your character, but not necessary equipped... When you level up another character, you transfer your highest weapons... Was the last 2 years like this I think...

1 RespuestaEditado por Tis-but-a-scratch: 3/7/2021 8:40:35 PMYou may be on to something. I only went up 1 level this week and have been trying to figure out why. Super frustrating to do a bunch of pinnacles and go up 1 light level.
-
Have you put this in the help forum/submitted a bug report yet? Likely to get fixed way faster.
-
Yes. I have noticed this as well. So im gonna make sure to do it old skool and have my highest stuff equipped.
-
1 RespuestaTo be completely honest with you I noticed this a year ago. I don’t know if it’s intended or not but this is the way the power leveling system has been for quite awhile. It really sucks when you accidentally dismantle a pinnacle drop and lose the power you just spent an hour getting immediately.
-
Seems to be broken, that’s not how it’s intended to work
-
2 RespuestasI love how everyone in the comment section missed the point and proceeded to explain what you already knew 🤦♂️ Your season-pass gear drops at the highest base light of that character, notice how he moved the weapon back and forth from his vault to his character, that shouldn't have changed the value of his season pass armor like it did. I think you are on to something OP, yesterday a buddy and I were farming nightfalls, and he was getting 1309 primes while prior to that his primes were 1310. Might possibly be some sort of bug.
-
Good to know, I’ve probably been robbed a few times then...
-
Don't even have to have it on you. Even in vault it works fine.
-
14 RespuestasI thought it was always like that. Keep your highest gear on you but you don't need it equipped.
-
3 RespuestasNot only that but most of the time for me at least i have to equip the highest gear in order to get the appropriate pinnacle drop. This was not happening before where i could just have my highest gear on me but not equipped and still get the rewards i was supposed to get.

12 RespuestasThis is how drops work. The gear you get from season pass and pinnicle drops depends on the highest level of gear total in your inventory, NOT your vault. This means that the game is tracking your power based on what you have currently in your inventory. Pinnacle drops are also based on that, which give 2+ gear (or 1+ if they are the playlist pinnacles) based on the average of your currant inventories highest power gear. It means you should not dismantle ANY gear at its highest power level until your at pinnacle level, get higher gear, or infuse that gear into something else.
-
It’s been doing that since before the patch. I’ve always use my season pass to fill in the gaps, and noticed I would have to equip my highest gear to pull out the highest level gear from my season pass. Not always, but definitely happened a few times.
-
All of your armor for your specific toons just needs to simply exist somewhere(however you don't want two exotics being your highest power gear for any given character on two different slots or else you'll actually drop in power level). If there's power level that all toons share, it'll be the weapons, and those simply need to be on the toons, equipped or not, or in the vault. You don't need to wear or even have them in your inventory, they just need to exist somewhere in the vault or in the inventory of your toons.

2 RespuestasThe ‘old way’ was you had to have the gear equipped for it to count, but after some complaints they changed it to it has to be in the guardians inventory. Its been that way for a couple years. Also, dont forget to lock it so you dont delete it if its a trash roll or unused exotic.

I think it won't consider any gear on your non active characters, but it may have changed.

3 RespuestasEditado por sonjalovestyson: 3/6/2021 3:04:51 PMAlways been like this. If you have higher weapons on other characters they need to be transferred. If you have high level weapon in your post master for that character then it will count but not on other characters. Edit. You may have higher level weapons on other characters but if they don't help you gain that extra light then it doesn't matter

1 RespuestaOnes from season pass aren't powerful rewards tho, not sure what is supposed to be intended
-
It is supposed to determine your highest max light depending on your inventory but sometimes I wonder if there are certain instances or rewards that still work the previous way as you discussed
-
I remember having this discussion before and not really coming to much of a conclusion as to whether anything changed from that pre-release schpiel about smart levelling. Just keep your highest pieces on you I guess

Editado por PhantomBrown: 3/6/2021 2:08:35 PMYeah I messed up with a few powerfuls yesterday, don't know if it is meant to happen or not.
