I know this will never happen but why not post about it. I play the Borderlands franchise more than Destiny these days and their Legendaries = our Exotics. Destiny copied the weapon rarity colours from Borderlands; white, green blue, purple and gold. In Borderlands there are degrees of Legendaries (lighter or darker coloured gold/orange). In Borderlands you can equip Legendary/EXOTIC gear in every slot. You can be powerful!
Why can't that happen in Destiny?
Edit: Thanks for all the response. I know the way that Destiny is "put together" is different from Borderlands. But...as you complete the game you can then up your characters level normal, TVHM, UVHM or in BL3, Mayhem Mode, and acquire better more powerful gear. Yes there is a "grind" but the strategy to play the game and how you get the gear is up to you. Again thanks for all the response!

1 RespuestaWhile your at it, trash the stupid artifacts! This seasons artifact is dam near worthless.
-
Ooooh, a warlock with nazaraks sin, controverse hold, chromatic fire and transversive steps - would be tasty combo in pve! I guess paired with tractor cannon, graviton lance and rat king.
-
1 RespuestaEh, i rather have the option to give up an exotic weapon slot in favor of 2 armor pieces. Full exotic armor loadout is a pointless idea.
-
because then no point in legendaries, you get all the exotics and the grind is over

Editado por TheLastNerf: 6/24/2020 4:17:33 AMI was thinking about this the other day, it would be pretty cool to have the ability to equip multiple exotics in one category, at least for one game mode or a short weekend event or something. I don't think the system was copied directly from Borderlands, I'm sure the ranking system was in games before, Destiny was in development for a while though, so it may have been inspired. I do think Borderlands does a better job with the way their weapons perform though, you may have a really strong weapon but it eats through your ammo, and has the disadvantage of really bad range. Ammo can be pretty scarce as well, depending on how often you use a specific weapon, and it isn't generated out of thin air, you have to loot chests or buy it

4 RespuestasAt least for a weekend or something. That would be a great event idea. But no. They will never do this.
-
Then there would be no reason to use legendaries. Ever. Might as well only have the exotics, but with everything special, none of them are. From a gameplay prospective every single combination of every exotic would have to be looked at to ensure that they play well together without breaking the game. And what slot an exotic takes would matter a lot more as it would define what gear can combine. Your gear would end up mattering more than your class considering how much more of your toolbox comes from it.
-
It will make it too good of an experience for the players and this is not in line with game design.
-
Be realistic lol imagine stompies with worm husk and dragons shadow , plus shanobi vow all on at the same time. Nice dream but bungie would never give the community that choice
-
Why combine exotic armor pieces or weapons, or give ya any avenue for really amping up our abilities and enjoyment... .... when you can grind and nerf what makes this actually fun into a very fine powder bereft of any pleasure? Our characters should be slinging space magic like crazy at this point. The fact we’re drowning in blues, fussing over legendaries, and being totally miserly about exotics is beyond my understanding.
-
Pipe dream. The game would need to be restructured from the ground up to accomodate a full exotic loadout. You might think it wouldn't be a big deal, but just realize how even the hardest activity would be trivialized by having 3 or more fully exotic-built fireteams.

As far as I know everybody copied Borderlands because they were the first major looter shooter. The World of Warcraft of its genre if you will. I've been saying for years that a game variant like mayhem, which gives you full super every time you look at your screen, where guardians can equip multiple or full exotic slots would be so fun. It would devestate the frames and most of the game though similar to how modders back in Borderlands 1 could crash your game by shooting a single bullet. Obviously a pvp mode would be insane but I worry that a full exotic pvp mode, even as a rotating game mode, might be underwhelming with how long individuals can usually stay alive. Give us a never ending taken spawn, every 3-5 minutes the enemies get stronger and you can use one more exotic or something. Or at least bring back exotic class items...

3 RespuestasEditado por captaineegee: 6/23/2020 7:45:20 PMI’ve wanted this since D1. Maybe when the darkness is here in full force they’ll allow us to do it as we are deparate and need every single edge we can get. Could you imagine a one eyed mask Antaeus ward titan running at the darkness?
-
They’re two totally different games my dude.
-
1 Respuesta
Why can't that happen in Destiny?
In PvE, sure. Not raids, but maybe a special strike modifier. In PvP, no way. This would be laughably unfair to Warlocks.

Insurmountable Skullfort Synthoceps Severance Enclosure Peregrine Greaves Now I am become KNEE...the destroyer of faces.

Destiny should definitely have something between legendary and exotic, such as set gear, to allow guardians to actually be powerful. I mean this game should have set gear anyways, but I think that would provide a happy medium without potentially completely breaking the game by allowing absurd exotic synergies.
-
The code can’t handle it.
Sorry, all out of salt.
-
If my memory is correct this is something since 2014, and Bungie implicitly said it would never happen. That’s pretty much the point of exotics, and would kill the game. Some dedicated activities could allow for it, but the risk of dissatisfaction of being reserved to these would create insurmontable issues.
-
3 RespuestasDelete team scorched. Bring in Exotics Only
-
Sorry, guardian...I'm not that kinda god.

1 RespuestaEditado por KingdeKobra: 6/23/2020 4:30:46 PMBorderlands does that because they make enemies have more health than Calus. M10 is only playable with A Yellowcake, Recursion, and OPQ. Everything else is useless, haven’t played the new takedown so maybe more power creep happened but unless you want thralls to have 13 million health its best Bungie don’t go down that route.
-
I think this would actually make for a hilariously broken event. Way better then guardian games or festival or dawning for sure. Hunters Wormhusk Shinobus Dragons shadow Stompees or jeminis Titans One eyed mask Synthoceps Armentarium Anteus wards Warlocks Crown of tempest Ophidian Chromatic fire Transversives
-
There should be an exotic ghost which has the perk “god mode” and it allows you to equip all exotics
-
Well because you would be able to melt end game bosses and one shot in crucible with not even breaking a sweat
