You see, this is how I feel. If you continue to feel the way you do after reading this, then you have every right to. My opinion is that no law is going to hold back a criminal who is already breaking the law. Say we outlaw guns. They criminals will still get their hands on guns and they will continue to kill people, only difference is, now the people can't defend themselves. Drugs are illegal aren't they? If you were to look at the newspaper or watch the morning news without knowing that, you may not know that they were illegal due to the amount of stories on them. TL; DR We can make anything illegal but criminals will still abuse what lever it is

Editado por shermanmax: 6/23/2016 12:01:54 AMYour point is a valid concern but the majority of illegal guns at owned by gangs. Almost none of the massacres that we hear about on the news is not gang related. Also in order to not get arrested or caught gangs members won't be the cause of mass shootings like Orlando and Sandy hook.

Ok I slightly misunderstood the original post. You were talking more along the lines of mass shootings. My perspective was that of the more low key crimes i.e. Home robbery, murder, or bank heist. (Little bit strange categorizing those last two under low key crimes) see if someone really despises another person, they have ways of illegally acquiring a gun and shooting said person. Now I see you made an edit about not being able to shoot someone before they shoot you in a home robbery or self defense situation. In Most cases the owner of the home can hear a robber rattling doorknobs or breaking in windows or kicking out the door, allowing the owner to grab their weapon and assume a defensive position. As far as crimes such as bank heist, there are multiple accounts of a single concealed carrier (or multiple if such is the case) taking down the heist long before the proper law enforcement can arrive. Take away those carriers and you have a much messier situation, maybe the criminals get away before the law enforcement can arrive. Or worse, the law enforcement does arrive, so the criminals are covered and start taking hostages resulting in a shootout that can result in loss of innocent life. These are just three examples and I hope you can see where I'm coming from, and that mass shootings are not the only crimes committed by guns. Have a nice day. :)
