Clearly destiny has tapped into the mass market of console gamers and shown them a completely new experience.
Completing a well tuned raid is one of the most gratifying game experiences I've ever had. Bang for the buck destiny has proven to be the best console game I've ever played. I'm nearly hundreds of hours in, Have only one level 31 character and I can't wait to play again. Every time I turn it on its a completely different and fun experience. Previous to this if I spent 80 hours on a game that was monumental. This, while the typical 60 dollar game gave me about 10 hours of fun.
No console game has come close to the lasting value destiny has provided me. I know I'm not in the majority on these message boards: The very loud, very small minority). However, When it comes to destinies success, watch and learn. The franchise has already shattered records, and will continue to do so.
When I read these boards it becomes apparent that the vast majority of people that post here are absolutely clueless to so many things. This, while I completely respect the brains at bungie. When you make decisions that are sound to alter something, it is because it is well thought out and it will be for the greater good. This, while inevitably there will be scorn from those who just don't understand the big picture and believe themselves and their opinions to be important, when in fact they aren't.
I don't have the time nor inclination to explain the nuance to a group that will never get it, so it suffices to say exactly this: watch how incredible destiny does in turns of revenue. You can spew predictions of demise, and how you're quitting etc, but the proof is currently in the pudding. Sales. Sales. sales. Watch them continue to be right at the top, year in and year out. The reason? They know more than you do about making a game fun for the masses. A LOT more. This is why they are breaking records. This is why so many people are playing for so many hours. If they turned the reigns over to those on these boards the sales would plummet and destiny would fail quickly and miserably.
So, if you are the 1 percent of gamers who play 600 hours and accomplish everything before you put the game down for a minute, and then complain because there isn't enough content, then bungie doesn't give a shit about you're opinion. It's useless because you are 1 percent and insignificant. As well, you're kind of a moron.
If you are amongst the throngs of people new to the entire element of RNG loot tables, repetitiveness, and relentless grinding, welcome! Best not fight it, gonna have to face it, you're addicted... So come on in and enjoy the ride :)
if you are like me and surely most of the people who play this game, then you are loving it and can't wait for more.
And to those that are rude and ignorant and go insane insulting everyone at bungie- PUT THE GAME DOWN AND WALK AWAY! Geez, you'd think you never spent 60 bucks on a game and been disappointed before. I know I have a ton of times, but I never wrote the company non stop over the course of months cursing at them - and my bet is neither did you! It's simply that they got you! Got you addicted like a crack head and you can't understand it and you can't put the game down - you're going crazy and that tiny little brain of yours trying so hard to reconcile this entire situation- can't stop playing a game you hate?! This must be the pinnacle of success for a game designer- millions love the game and play it nonstop. And the few who hate it... Also play it non stop! Incredible!
Welcome to reality :) Now, go cry in your soup.

EDIT: new every time I play: sometimes I have 20 minutes, I do a bounty. Sometimes I have an hour, sometimes I have three. It affects what I do and what my goals are. I raid. Sometimes I farm. Sometimes I go pvp. Sometimes I try to level up guns. Sometimes I focus on leveling up armor. Sometimes I teach noobs. Sometimes I get carried. Every time I sit down its a different experience. Much the same as other great titles and sports games.
Did I really have to point this out to you? Smh
But please, yes , criticize the fact that yu feel it's repetitive then CONTINUE TO PLAY AND PLAY AND PLAY. Like a rat on the wheel chasing the cheese. You just can't get off can Ya? I know you can't because if you could you wouldn't be here arguing with me or posting. You'd let it go. But you can't. It's too good isn't it;) gotchya playing hundreds of hours doesn't it ;)
Difference is I spent hundreds of hours of my life thoroughly entertained and happy. And you spent hundreds hours frustrated and miserable. Sucks for you. Lol. If it were me and I didn't enjoy it, I would never have sunk hundreds of hours in. But that's just me :) maybe after you're done hating the game you can't stop playing you can take your misery further by downloading th app and posting your misery! And after that, since it seems you relish misery, maybe you can put your feet in a bucket of ice while you play! Then you can really flame the post boards with misery! Perfect!

Spellcheck is your friend. Probably your only friend. You should say hello to him now and then. Also, there is an "edit" link that allows you to go back into your posts and correct embarrassing spelling mistakes......oh wait, never mind. You don't care about anything I'm posting, so you obviously won't read this.

Editado por DeedDomino: 2/7/2015 3:55:40 PMNo I read it, just not very concerned with spelling as I type from my phone on a bungie post board. I am, however, concerned with thinking clearly and making valid points. You wrote on and on regarding assumptions, only to be found incorrect in assuming I made an assumption! Perfect! There was no assumption made. The time it displays in your bungie profile is the time you spent IN action. Good job not checking that and then going off on some diatribe where you had assumed that it logged your total time. :) So now that 2 thirds of your lengthy post on assumptions has been exposed as nonsense, and about every word of it you can read to yourself and take heed because it is you, not i, who made the assumption- I should just stop. It would be equally easy to go on and talk about enjoyment/playtime but I won't. Suffice it to say that any sane person wouldn't put 20 hours into something they didn't love voluntarily. No less 50, 100, 150, what, 400? Cmon man. You didn't just like destiny, you LOVED it. Obsessed over it. Played it more than most people work lol.

Editado por Mournblood: 2/8/2015 10:28:09 PMThe spellcheck comment was directed at officernasty70, I just failed to reply to the correct post. As for your correction about time played, that's not entirely accurate. While I'll concede the point about it not counting the time you're in orbit or at the Tower, those aren't the only places where I've been idle in the game. Just because you're on a planet in patrol or even in a strike doesn't mean you're necessarily in action. And as many of my friends can attest, I'm often sitting off to the side on my hover bike somewhere while I'm logging on my work computer to deal with an off hours technical support issue, or putting my daughter to bed, or whatever happens to come up in my busy life while I'm trying to cram in quality time with my Xbox Live friends. Time played isn't just counting the seconds, minutes, or hours I spend pulling the trigger on an AR. So again, as I took the time to explain in detail, my time played is very much not indicative of how much I like this game. If you want to insist otherwise, as I expect you will, by all means assume whatever makes you feel warm and cozy in your world. I've already spent far more time than was reasonably justified responding to you, and nothing further can be gained from continuing the conversation.

I agree. I wish you and your family health and happiness. You seem like a good guy.

Perfect

Bump I hate the haters ;)

Yes one hundred times! Couldnt have said it better.

Because it's an MMO with FPS and RPG elements, as well as next to nothing on the story.
-
I think you're wrong about them knowing something we don't. I think the house of wolves delay is a clear indicator that they acknowledge a screw up with the first dlc. A huge amount of people preordered the game and the dlc season pass so they have no choice but to wait it out. The pre-order sales will absolutely decline after HoW is released and the next set is announced, unless they completely wow us. They're definitely scrambling after the dark below backlash. If the numbers were released I think there would be a significant decrease in average daily playtime and current players. I loved this game, but I am getting burnt out and I'm assuming a large portion is as well.
-
Right on dude! I'm a Final Fantasy guy all the way though. This is the first game that I have put as much time into as I do Final Fantasy.
-
Well said fellow guardian.
-
-
This. Amen fellow guardian
-
Bump. Heck yeah people should stop crying if they're just going to keep playing lol. You'd think they would quit and be done with it.... Maybe they like the game just as much as you and don't know it yet (0.0)
-
Love it! And love the game, shortcomings and all.
-
I agree with most of what you said. Enjoy destiny very much, but the time is come to move on from Destiny, at least for now. Destiny has a lot to improve on. And when they do I will be back no doubt about. And I will give you a bump...but you really shouldn't call people morons and what not. It just makes you sound just as dumb as them.
-
I agree. My bad.
-
This guy was paid to say this to defend Bungie's scum ways.
-
He's Bungies employee of the month!
-
Bump. Btw, I just looked at my game hub and of the 100 people on my friends list that have played destiny, yes I said 100, 97 have more than 100 hours played and the least amount played is 70 hours. The top 50 have over 400 hours played, and the top 25 have over 650 hours. Now, I know this is a small sample size compared to the millions who play, but I think it shows that people have definitely gotten their money's worth. Ps #1 has 1670 hours. That's over two months on a game that's been out for five months.
-
Awesomeness! bump!
-
Bump, sure there are problems with the game but that doesn't make it bad
-
Different experience every time? 😑 Point a to point b. Same enemy's spawn in the same areas. No exploration whatsoever.
-
You win for douchebaggery! Congrats!
