Dear Bungie
I would like to kindly ask you to reduce the swearing in your game and remove the gore elements. My son has asked for me to purchase him the game but as the game is right now, I cannot do it. I noticed my son watching an online video from a sharing site today and i could see there is significant blood/gore. To me, that is more gore than there should be in a mature rated game.
A couple of years ago I bought my son Halo reach as he assured me it was similar to another shooting game that I was okay with him playing. Little did I know there was A LOT of swearing built into the game. I am okay with the A word, but the S and F words have NO place in video game, even a mature rated one. I ended up having to change the voice over language from English which wasn’t ideal as he couldn’t understand the non-swearing parts which he said were important. I have heard no word on if there is a reduction in the amount of swearing in Destiny, so at the moment I cannot purchase your game for my son.
I think if you reduce the swearing and remove gore it will be good for everyone. I don’t think the adults who play your game will mind and it will certainly be good for the kids.
Now I don’t claim to have any knowledge of video games, but I do know what is appropriate. I have been a member of my son’s school’s PTA (Parent Teacher Association) for almost 10 years and almost all of my fellow parents agree that video games these days are too violent. If one of your representatives would like to e-mail me, I will gladly provide my details.
Sincerely,
Cindy Myers

There's not much swearing in destiny, the worst they will say is hell (which to me doesn't count as a swear word) and there is no blood or gore. Also it has a T esrb rating not a M so that must have been a different game. I can assure you that this game is alright for a kid to play.

3 RespuestasThis game is rated T. There is no swearing in the storyline, and the blood is surprisingly low for the game it is. The only sort of gore is one enemy type that can lose their head, but there isn't even any blood from that, it pretty much just removed the head from existence of the game at the moment. Other enemies, such as the robots, can break into white oil, if you mistakes that. Some enemies can disintegrate as well, but again, there is no blood or such. This is a T-Rated-Game.

2 RespuestasPlease. Just buy him the game. Itll teach him to work with others and value things sentimental wise. From the way you sound i bet he wears a pink shirt... Sad..

Editado por Zoey: 2/7/2015 5:06:35 PMHere's an idea... Don't try to censor video games and teach your son that he can't always get what he wants, if you're uncomfortable with what's in them. Destiny is barely even bad, but y'know, rating 'T' generally means 12 and under shouldn't be playing it. Edit: Don't even care if this is a troll, it's stupid regardless

lol is this for real?

Go pull the stick out of your ass.
-
There is not swearing in the game..... And I don't understand how enemies exploding into glitter, and occasionally dropping a colourful dodecahedron is gore
-
Shut up Cindy.
-
Go away. Destinys fine for kids 6+ lol. No gore. No swearing. Just look gameplay and stop being annoying.
-
F**k this, im gonna go watch walking dead.

Honestly, the only blood there is in the game is when your health is really low and it's on the edges of your screen. Though it goes away after a few seconds.

1 RespuestaEditado por fettuccine: 2/7/2015 1:22:44 PMIf you wanna know how appropriate or inappropriate a game or movie (mostly movies, only big name games are on it, destiny included) use the IMDB (international movie data base) app. Or just use IMDB on the internet (http://m.imdb.com). Scroll down and click on parents guide btw I really hope that this will help you.
you can also use IMDB to see when upcoming movies are coming out and watch trailers etc
Again, hope this helps your problem :)

2 RespuestasYou're the parent. You can say NO. There isn't a single swear within the games dialogue. What you probably heard was the players themselves swearing up a blue streak, as is the nature of online gaming. This is why I don't allow my children, ages 9 and 5, to play online. As for the violence, there are far more violent and gory games out there, Destiny has nothing on even Halo on that point and I still don't believe Halo games deserve anything over a T rating. Not trying to tell you how to raise your kid but at the end of the day the buck stops at you, asking the developer to change their game to suit your sensibilities is ridiculous.

/r mensrights at it again!!

2 RespuestasFor everyone wondering if this is real or fake: it's fake. Check the stats.

I'm sorry but I missed the swearing please show evidence such as scene and time frame. As for the gore this is clearly a subjective matter but again please show evidence of what you believe to be too much Without this your post is either a troll or pointless Either way back your comments up or move on

Swearing? Gore? I think i have a different game then?
