It seems like every time the topic of having kids comes up, im the only one who doesn't want to have any. When I tell people this, they usually have a strong reaction to my decision. They act like what I just said was an awful thing, and they're like "well why not?" What do you guys think? Is it really wrong for someone to not want to have babies?
Edit: Im amazed at how overwhelmingly supportive everyone is (although there have been a few trolls). Keep giving your opinions about this topic (favorable or unfavorable) because I think it's a relevant cultural issue that isn't discussed very often. Thanks everyone.

There are plenty of people who don't want kids in their lives for one reason or another. I know quite a few people that don't want any children and want to keep it that way. I personally see myself as the type that is "on the fence". I'm in my mid twenties and don't know if I will ever have any. I get mixed reactions when people find out that I don't have any little ones running around. My parents are quite happy that I don't have any. I guess they feel that they did a good job in raising me since in this day and age most people my age have have too many kids and very little money. I do know that if I ever say "I'm pregnant!", that they'll be over the moon. :p

14 RespuestasI'd be more worried if you wanted to "have" kids. Cause you know how men are.
zips up flame suit, dives into trench, enables blast shields, logs out of b.net, destroys phone, changes identity, moves to Denmark.
-
Nope. I mean sure, it's like the opposite of how we've evolved to feel, but how we've evolved to feel and what we've consciously become are two very different animals.

1 RespuestaI like kids. I understand that the bond between you and your children is immense. But... I think society is too -blam!-ed up to justify bringing another person into it. Maybe if I move some time in the future, but, right now, I don't think so.
-
I'm still young, so it's a good thing I don't want kids...yet.
