Good players don't complain about not getting exotics
Because they don't need them; it's precisely the reason they're good.
Edit: for example, don't you think it's much more challenging and rewarding (or at least would be) to beat a Nightfall using only non-exotic weapons? You could be the first in the world to if you did...
Edit2: a lot of people seem confused. This topic isn't about the loot system/endgame. It's about players' skill levels and using exotics as a crutch.

Had a friend who wanted to play his warlock in crucible, but didn't want to take the time to switch gear through the vault. Long story short, green hand cannons kick ass.

i don't complain, i always complete nightfall with my legendary VOG weapons and always get ghallahorns and other useless exotics!

How about good players don't whine over needing exotics because chances are they either already have the one they want, OR, they realize that in MANY instances a legendary with great rolls will outperform and not use the slot.

It's also the equivalent of stating "Isn't it more rewarding & challenging to beat the Nightfall with a minimum Light level in Nightfall...afterall, a high Light level is just a crutch" :-p Exotics are fun to use: several have unique sound effects, custom detailing and perks that makes the weapon/armor seem stronger than their more common cousins. I love my shiny, sparkling toys...it might be more challenging to eat a bowl of ice cream without the use of utensils, however, the reward would be equivalent. ;-) Honestly, if you're trying to call out the community, you usually need to make it worth their while. For example: Beat the Nightfall without using any Exotics, to obtain a guaranteed Exotic as a reward". Why punish yourself without some form of additional reward? For the ability to say "I did it", or simple public recognition? As fun as the accolades would be to receive, that recognition doesn't help me push back The Darkness any faster, or shield me from their blows. :-) Good luck and have fun to anyone that accepts your challenge though.
