It's a primary weapon with Solar Damage. Solar is the most effective thing in the game since the Hive, Kabal and on epic mode Fallen (shanks) have weaknesses to Solar. It's also useful in the VoG as it does extra damage to oracles. I use it for everything, my coffee tastes that much sweeter now.
