There is no sarcasm or satire in this topic. DeeJ isn't perfect, nobody is. In fact, I've gotten irritated at a few of the things he's said and poked fun at him for it. But I hold no hostility towards him. In fact I think he's the best community manager we've had. No, I'm being serious. In all my years at bungie.net (despite what my account says, I've been here longer than 3 years), he is the only employee I've seen interact with the community on a regular basis. So I'm kind of sickens at all the hatred I've seen hurled towards him.
It's not his fault Bungie screwed up so bad. It's not his fault that he has to be careful with his information. In fact I think he is trying to be as honest as possible without losing his job. Now, I'm not white-knighting DeeJ, I think he can handle you guys. No, this topic is for you.
When you begin to label people as being your enemy, you forget to see the good things that they do. In fact, some of you have tried to attach some sort of sinister motive to his honest responses. This degrades the ability to reciprocate feedback. After all, once you label somebody as your enemy, why should you listen to them?
On the old website, the previous community managers did not post as frequently. Yes, they were clearer about Bungie's goals, but they did not interact with the community as much or take their feedback as seriously. So please, do yourselves a favor and stop assuming everything DeeJ does comes with a hidden motive.

Are you gently stroking his balls so maybe you too can get the fate of all fools?

He's in charge of a shitty and most disappointing title of the last decade. He HAS to deal with it and make some juicy damage control, its his job.

I actually have a theory that you and Deej are the same person. I could tell you why, but I need to see/hear more.. And because reason, obvs...

He needs more hate lol You can't false advertise and not expect hate I mean go back and watch his interview about destiny at launch and during the beta 50% of what he said were complete lies Deej lied and bungie is money whores They deserve hate
-
That's his job, and he gets paid quite well for it too. You know what though... if Bungie and Activi$ion hadn't screwed the pooch on what was advertised versus what was actually sold.... he'd have a fairly kush job. Not everyone would be happy, still, but... if there were more content, there'd be more people still playing through it rather than lamenting the lack of it on the forums.

76 RespuestasEditado por Azerkeux: 11/8/2014 11:40:35 PMTBH Longface.. I don't think DeeJ gets enough hate. If he really did represent anyone, aside from himself, and his status as a pseudo-Bungie employee. He would be bitching, openly towards Bungie and Activision, commenting, agreeing, disagreeing, engaging with the community in honest discourse... The fact that he hides so much, rarely plays the game he is intended to be the community rep for, and does not openly admit to his pseudo-employers mistakes just highlights the fact that his prime objective is protecting his employment status.

It's the price he pays for being the public face of Bungie. Let's be realistic about this... You don't take a job like that thinking every halfwit with an internet connection and an opinion isn't going to blame you personally whenever Bungie does something they don't like. He knew what he was getting into when he signed up for the job, the same way all those private contractors did when they went to work building the Death Star in Return Of The Jedi...

Editado por Dooodley: 11/9/2014 11:50:12 PMI don't have a problem with Deej but I wouldnt necessarily refer to him as the best Community guy (or Bungie person filling that role under a different label) we've had. That said, it's probably not fair to compare him to the "halo guys" because it felt like they were working under different conditions. Deej's position kind of reminds me of the ungrateful job Musco has over at SWTOR, it feels like everything he posts has to go through ten executives first.

2 RespuestasToo much hate? Bah. NOT ENOUGH HATE. We need to join the angry bandwagon and release our aggression on one man alone. Eventually DeeJ will quit and we will receive a new sacrifice to sate our bloodlust.

Hopefully many understand he's just a focal point for the community. Much like the President, pardon the reference, I only mean it as he's representing a larger whole and his responsibility and power are minuscule, but his influence can spread wide. The 2 main things I would prefer people to be aware of is... 1.) Feedback can only generate positive results if it's presented in a positive and constructive manner. Not much you can fix about, it sucks, screw you, and I want my money back. Personal opinions are not reliable enough information. They're colored by perspective, emotion, and many factors out of the developers control. For example, a variety of sub par Internet service and such. 2.) The best information any software designer is going to get is straight from watching the servers. Whoever controls them, has all the real information. Basically how many people are dying from what and how fast. Our actual play data is what will determine 90% of update changes. If you keep those in mind, your feedback will actually gain more traction and attention. Probably not as much as you'd like, but working within the system will guarantee the best results. Luck mates!

DeeJ needs to change his tittle to shit whip or toilet because everyone is throwing it at him. The sad fact is when your the face of a company your what gets yelled at even if you are nothing more then the corporate errand boy. I feel bad for you DeeJ I really truly do no one person should get this much hate for something you have no control over.

Hate is a terrible emotion to give in, and give power, to. There's simply no excuse. Disagree or want to rant? Fair enough. Present your case as respectfully as you can muster. All that being said, too many people band the 'hate' word around without really understanding what it really means.
