I know I posted this before, but it was taken down. Don't know if that means you're considering it or just simply threw it away, so I'm posting again. Please hear me out.
I love playing on Patrol and doing bounties or just simply collecting Spirit Blooms, but I feel that it doesn't have enough variety in it. Here's my suggestion. Fallen Escort Convoys.
These Fallen Escort Convoys is a small band of Fallen Pikes consisting of six Fallen Kell Guards, and one Fallen Archon Boss with Boss health. Killing the Fallen Boss will drop 1 - 2 ascendant material and very rarely one legendary engram. These escort parties will occasionally come by on Earth, Moon, or Venus in similar fashion to the Fallen Pike squads.

If you do not like what I've suggested then please post what YOU would like to see in Patrol or other games modes in Destiny. Only we can help Bungie give us the game experience we want in Destiny so give them the feedback they need to make Destiny a better game for us. Just don't be an asshole about it.
NOTE:
This is NOT a random public event. Just a rare occurrence that comes without warning like the Fallen Pike squads. The only warning you get is the tiny message at the bottom of your screen. Random Public Event despite it's name is not random. They follow a schedule, but this would truly randomly occur occasionally.
Update:
Cabal Escort Parties: Consists of four Cabal Legionaries (yellow health) and two Cabal Imperial Colossus escorting a Cabal Admiral (Has boss health). same rewards as above. Appears in Mars
Vex Escort Links: Consists four Minotaurs, and two Hydras escorting a Vex Gate lord (Has boss health). Same rewards as above. Appears in Venus, and Mars.

2 RespuestasI want dungeon patrols. On the moon for example. When I'm wandering around and enter a dungeon there should be missions inside. Or at the VERY least materials/chests. I find it fun going inside and killing more than a cluster of 3 like outside can be. Or alternately; have different patrols on surface. Like blue/red beacons. I swear I see some already out and about. Like it was a thought at one time. These patrols could be longer to complete and even encourage needing a fire team to knock it out quicker. Like kill 500 hive or something I dunno. I'm not gonna do all their job by thinking up details! And why does it say rewards for patrols are materials? I collect those. It doesn't reward me ANY! And they can be found anytime not just patrol. How about a patrol mission to Jack a spin metal shipment? (or any material per planet) They are materials so rare you can't even buy them! Only sell for marks. Use a 3 man cell and actually take a tiny bit of thought and working together. For this the enemies shouldn't be set in stone like a raid. Have it more adaptable. That is what team work is. Responding to change in tactics by either side. But I'm getting away from my main thought with these brainstorms I just thought up. Mini raid could be cool though. Just doesn't really apply to patrols I guess. Or make it easy for one person to do and reward like 10 materials or something. Just a few things I've been dreaming about while doing 6 patrols on X planet or 3 other identical bounties I did the day before. How hard is it to say complete ANY level on heroic from planet X? Same with 6 patrols on any planet.

I like this idea with one caveat: more nearby players should increase the odds of such "missions" occurring. I say this because this idea sounds similar to existing "eliminate the target" public events, which can be very frustrating and disheartening to attempt by oneself.

1 RespuestaI'd prefer a level 28 patrol mode, it would be more tasking and rewarding with more intense events such as an "invasion" from one of the races. (Fallen ketch releases various troops from a hovering position, Hive seeder lands, Vex spire forms, Cabal ship releases various troops from a hovering position.)

2 RespuestasI like the thought of a Fallen public event that works as follows: On patrol everyone receives the typical public event notice A damaged fallen walker (spider tank) has been found by advanced vanguard scouts in one of the caves in the cosmodrome/venus/the moon Fallen troops are gathering resournces in an attempt to repair the machine Guardians, do not let them restore that artillery! (You then go shoot up all the captains, vandals, and dregs guarding the cave, make your way inside, and destroy the damaged walker) Rewards are 15 spinmetal/helium coils/spirit blooms...

Definitely. Patrol needs more random stuff like this to make things more interesting. I really like the clashes that occurs in a few places that have two factions already fighting each other. Creating more stuff like this (pike recon, clash, escort) and making some exclusive to certain areas (pikes only appearing in large zones, clashes only in 'hot' zones, escorts only in zones with a public event that has you kill a VIP) would be awesome.

Sounds like something id definitely get amongst! Good idea! Also, sparrow racing! Just as a non combat passtime. Or even mini games in the tower? Something to kill time when youre sick of killing all the time, lol.

5 RespuestasNeat idea but your rewards are too much. Not even Gold Tier public events give you that kind of loot. Minimize the loot and you've got a good idea. However despite your insistence that this is not a public event I think it would work better as one. More enemies and a time limit to kill them before they reach their Safe Zone.

I would like them to make more spirit blooms spawn and spawn faster, cause I currently need 128 spirit blooms to upgrade my armor and weapons and don't feel like farming for hours! I do agree though that variety in public events would be great...and them spawning a little more frequently.

2 RespuestasI think this is a great idea. But in think you should expand on it. Instead of just Fallen, there should be an event like this for every enemy faction. Cabal with interceptors, Hive with a couple of Ogre guards, Vex escorting a Gate Lord maybe.

Another great idea would be to have fallen, not skiffs but the larger, more powerful ships, would come by planet to planet and they stay there for 10 minutes just so you could raid them and kill their kell. Maybe it could be a new public event.

There are two problems with patrol: 1. Limited types of patrol missions. 2. No challenge. Creating a wider variety of patrol missions would freshen Patrol up a bit, and making enemy levels coincide with player level would increase the difficulty. I'm tired of scanning the same piece of "equipment" while killing level five enemies along the way. At level 28, there is no challenge in killing enemies 20+ levels below me.
