DEEJ - Please nerf the "RUSH-TARDS" in strikes.

These "RUSH-TARDS" are spoiling what little there is of strikes. They race through sections of strikes killing little or nothing, just to get to the end in record time. They don't pick up ammo, they aren't looking for engrams, so..... Why ?? What's the point ?? It just ruins the gameplay. Teamwork & tactics go out the window. Dying's not an option, unless you're Jesus. And that f-ing screen that says "the darkness has consumed you" REALLY p#sses me off - when i'm just playing the game at a normal pace. Surely this doesn't fit Bungie's "vision" of the game ?? Need help here Deej.

  • I somewhat agree.. There's a degree of rushing that's just too much where they skip over everything. But personally I'm not gonna go out of my way to kill everything. I'd say me and my random squad kill roughly 95% of the enemies and get done in 12-15 minutes everytime. I'm usually the one killing 45-60% of the enemies too. Only strike that takes longer than that is the cabal commanders mission on Mars.

  • Honestly, you act like the engram drop at a high rate. I maybe see one blue every strike. So, why am I going to take my time? The only reason I'm doing the strike is for rep or a bounty. It's not like most of us don't already know the path, enemy spawns and boss pattern and could beat it with our eyes closed.

  • I rush strikes to get to the limited spawn sections because thats where you collect what RnGesus lets you collect.

  • This happened to me the other night, I was doing a strike on the lowest hard level by the way. So I could get my not dying bounty and this retard rushed through, and gave me and this other guy a Darkness consumed you, 3 fuqing times!. Grrr.

  • I don't know about you but the engram drops during the strike are pretty useless. At best the gear at the end of a regular strike is still mediocre. Only on the nightfall and weekly is anything decent. But on those you can't really rush. Most strikes I do are for vanguard bounties and just want the xp to level up weapons faster. I really don't want to spend 30 minutes on one strike so you can get a crappy engram.

    • I am doing a level 24 strike. The objective says to kill servitors, nothing else. I kill the servitors. Some mobs inbetween restricted respawn areas aren't even the level of the strike. They are part of the shared world, like in the Mars strike. I do the objectives, then I go to the next objective. No one has time to kill unimportant enemies. That kind of habit transfers over to the raid, where players kill regular goblins instead of prioritizing other enemies like minotaurs, hobgoblins, or oracles. Even in PvP control. Your meant to capture the point. It is more important than getting kills. Not to mention the RNG aspect of the game makes strike grinding very annoying. So much so that no one has time to be dilly dallying with cannon fodder enemies.

    • On behalf of all those "Rush-tards" (yes Im one of them) I guess we missed the part where it says "kill every enemy you encounter, play the same strike you've been doing over and over in its entirety!" And sorry but some of us have that exotic bounty where we have to complete 25 strikes....

      • I take my time anyway, I'll let them rush. I have had a good number of engrams drop from killing the higher level enemies.

Your post is invalid in many ways. To start, deej cannot do anything for you. Second, there would be no way to nerf this. Thirdly, it's fun to speedrun through a strike with friends to see how fast you can go since the same strikes over and over again get repetitive.

      • Play with your friends if its that big of a deal. Honestly if youre getting overwhelmed by the mobs you can run through then idk what to tell you other than skip them. I run through strikes as fast as possible so i can grind up my marks to buy my legendary weapons, i dont play the strikes for the enemies to drop engrams, you wanna kill mobs for engrams? Go play patrol. Skipping 20 unnecessary enemies isnt a big deal in my opinion, but back to my original statement, if you really hate being grouped with a couple speedsters then play with your friends and take 30+ minutes for a single strike.

Yeah you're out of your mind. The juju bounty required 25 completed strikes I did the nexus level; 25 times almost in a row. It was between 10-15 min each. You do the math at how long I was bored to tears. If I had did the strike ONLY the way YOU say we're allowed to double that time. Besides what rewards do you get? A green engram that my 28th level TITAN would sooner wipe his &$@ with than use. Or how about the glimmor that I don't need because if I want glimmor it's easier to farm spin metal or spirt bloom than kill random critters for oh I don't know maybe one each. Dude; bit of life advise here take your head out of your &$@. You'll thank me later :)

          • You don't do vanguard strikes for in mission drops. You do them for end mission rewards. I get more legendary engrams for completing a strike than I do for killing enemies within it.

            • It only bothers me when they can't hold their own and end up dying in the darkness zone. Aggravating to get pulled ahead every time they die there. If you can't play it solo don't leave the team.

              • No point looking for engrams. The important ones go to the post master. When you've played the same strike for the billionth time, taking it slow is painful.

              • You're an idiot. The point of strikes is for the end rewards. If you want engrams and xp go play patrol by yourself.

Who are you to decide that players MUST stay in a team, collect ammo, and collect engrams? Fv<k that s#!t. I've got Bounties, Tolands Journal, and rewards that are more important than making you feel socially satisfied. If it was my choice, i'd fly any strike solo excluding the Vault of Glass. And I can even do the Nightfall solo. The problem is that matchmaking is required, and people who are self capable are forced into a squad. We rushers have about as much interest in being in a squad with people like you, as you do with us. Give us a solo option and we'll be out of each others hair.

                    • Get used to it. Speed running in campaign missions has been a thing for awhile. They are farmers, the faster they can get through the better. They won't be your problem. The quitters and AFKs will be. Do not remove the consumed by darkness mechanic. Here's why. You get an AFK. Message the other player who's playing. One of you run off to the AFK. The other guy gets killed. Bam, consumed by Darkness. Results are you all including the AFK re-spawn together. Now proceed to let the the boss just kill the AFK repeatedly while you run around reviving him. He'll eventually quit, start playing, or just stand there. If they stand there. We'll don't kill the Boss or touch him. Just quit out and let the Boss beat the AFK all day long. Sometimes you gotta just say onward to the next playlist.
