1 - I don't BELIEVE there is a God. I KNOW there is.
2 - I am almost 100% sure there is a God. (Over 90%).
3 - I am over 50% sure there is a God.
4 - I am completely 50/50. The evidence is equal both ways as I understand it.
5 - I am over 50% sure there is no God.
6 - I am almost 100% sure there is no God. (over 90%).
7 - I don't BELIEVE there isn't a God. I KNOW there isn't.
I'm reading the God Delusion and in the book Richard Dawkins mentions this scale, and it got me thinking. He claims he is number 6, if anyone is wondering and if you claim to be 1 or 7 i'd be REALLY interested to know why.
I'm number 6. What about you Flood/Dlood?
*NOTE THAT I AM NOT ASKING IF YOU ARE RELIGIOUS. THAT IS IRRELIVENT*
EDIT: Also, please be cool with eachother, guys and gals. I know this sort of topic gets people a bit high rate sometimes, but we don't need that. This is just for sake of interest in other views, not argument. We can all argue another time...

It's a complete tie. 44% said yes, 44% said no, and 12% lol idk

I hope there is a creator. There's no definitive way to accurately depict my assurance, but I resign myself to hoping there is one, doubting the reality of it, and accepting I shall probably never know.
-
I chose 7 out of impulse. Sometimes your gut feeling is the right one... For you, at least.
-
I think that we have a creator but even our creator isn't perfect, and we can't understand said creator because we're just a bunch of hairless apes, which is why I hate religion.

Editado por SexyPiranha: 5/17/2014 6:05:33 PMI'm an atheist because I don't believe in god due to lack of evidence in the affirmative. I'm agnostic because I acknowledge that there really is no way for me to be sure. That makes me a 6.
-
2, I don't understand how anyone can be 100% on either side. I believe that 1 and 7 are unchoosable.
-
Well, I'm a one.
-
What sort of God? I don't believe in a fat guy holding lightning bolts, but I do believe in order.
-
If we're talking about a personal being as described by mainstream religion then I'm a 7. That kind of being could exist, but I deny that it would be God. Such a being would not justify the label of being 'greater than that which can be conceived' ie: the ultimate being, or God. Such a being would be lesser than the totality of both it and that which it created and therefore is just another part of all that exists; another cog in the great machine, not a creator or first cause.

2 RespuestasMy faith is about 30 but only so I can use Darkmoon Blade
-
Surprised to see some people not blatantly denying God's existence. I'm impressed
-
Number 5, it's not like a God has been disproved, but it hasn't been proved either and as we as a species learn more it seems like it seems less and less likely.
-
I really don't think there is, but I most certainly couldn't say with absolute certainty
-
I had to read the poll options twice. Damn, the wording was confusing. I'd say number 2.
-
5 RespuestasWell you can't prove that something is there and can't prove that it's not so............ If God is real then where did it come from?
-
genuine question for people who voted 1- how do you KNOW there is a god? god, by definition, cannot be observed.
-
4-5 I want there to be a god, but I find it highly unlikely ...
-
1 RespuestaThere is no evidence, you fuels.

This is thread is going to experience a penis-related title change.

Where's the "I don't give a -blam!-, I can't confirm there is a god/s or not"

I never know how I fit in these types of topics.
You see, I'm pretty sure I'm not agnostic because I personally think that being agnostic means that you don't want to take a definitive side of being an theist or atheist, so you sit on the fence so you can't be wrong. But at the same time, agnostic is probably the closest term to describing what I am. When ever I see religious arguments, I tend to side with the atheists because I'm pretty sure there isn't really a God out there, and I see certain aspects of religion as extremely negative. Although I hold religious aspects in a negative light, I do tend to believe in spiritual stuff every once in a while. It's a weird sort of double-think kind of thing, like from 1984. I know it isn't real, but there is a piece of my mind that keeps me sane by sometimes believing in a spiritual world like Heaven. I guess to be completely honest, I tend to believe in the spiritual stuff when I think about death, because I am terrified of the thought of empty blackness/nothingness even though I know my conscious mind will completely stop and I won't feel anything. I start to believe in the spiritual stuff as a coping mechanism so that I don't go into a complete panic attack when I think about death. I know for some people that they aren't afraid of death, or so they say, but for me, I still can't accept the inevitable or believe that one day I will be no more. Death is a very terrifying thought for me, but now I've started using it as a motivator, so instead of being paralyzed in fear, I'm starting to tell myself that I need to do as much as I can before I die, so that when the time comes, I'll be more accepting of it. And as I become more satisfied with my life, I won't have those "panic attacks" so much and I won't have a fear of death. Similarly as I've started to use my fear of death as a motivator and not a paralyzer, my "spirituality" stuff has continued to decrease. But that's just me. TL:DR I use spirituality as a comfort blanket for when I get scared of dying. Otherwise, I really don't believe in religious stuff.
I don't claim any of these.

4. It's 50-50. Either there is a God, or there isn't.
