I'm not sure how much water is going to affect us on our adventuring but if Chicago is drowned then we're going to need to transverse over it, under it, and through it in order to get around at times. Plus the thought of escaping from an advancing horde of Hive creatures due to running out of bullets and making the cliche Hollywood cliff jump to safety by diving into a river then yes yes yes let's get Indiana Jones on board here.
So please add swimming to our animation tool kit .

2 RespuestasSwimming in a Bungie game? Are you mad!!
-
Add swimming
-
1 Respuestalol i can't stand games that has water that can kill you, i mean it makes no sence you survive explosions and bullets but when you drop in a pool of water you automatically die!....WTH!!!!
-
There were swimming animations. They just so happen to be the same as the Death animation(s).
-
" yes yes yes let's get Indiana Jones on board here. " LOL but yes i agree i want to be able to swim so i dont have walk around the water like if im scared of it
-
2 RespuestasAs a competitive swimmer, I think that this idea is a fantastic one. If I can wield magical space powers; I can swim.

Editado por Ketchupisbabies: 5/17/2013 12:20:53 AMI don't think anyone at bungie can swim so they just assumed that dying was how it worked for everyone. On a more serious matter I think that swimming would be a great addition seeing as this is supposed to be a very smooth open world without swimming all water would just be a boundary. If they could do something like in far cry 3 where you actually dive into the water that would be awesome.

2 RespuestasEditado por Player3Th0mas: 4/18/2013 5:44:36 PMBungie character don't tend to survive in a teaspoon of water. That's why the covenant should have used water-guns instead of plasma rifles.

3 Respuestas
then yes yes yes let's get Indiana Jones on board here.
Fine, but if you find some Old World artifacts, promise me you won't wear them.

1 RespuestaI'm not sure how anyone would be able to swim normally in the gear we've seen so far. Maybe if the Titan and the Hunter had something that powered them through water would work a little better? The Warlock would show off and use magic, of course.
-
Dude to jump of a cliff to get away from the hordes of the Hive after running out of ammunition would be Epic, having some kind of swimming animation would make that effect seriously come to life...
-
LET'S ALL DO BUTTERFLY MICHAEL PHELPS STYLE!

5 RespuestasThis is a Bungie game. People can't swim in Bungie games.
-
No! i think swimming would take away from the experience. Bungie need not waste their time on this. My two cents.

3 RespuestasEditado por Drojman: 4/12/2013 10:25:38 PMI can imagine it now... "Look at all this gear I got! I'm so boss! Oh wait.. where the heck did my ammo go?" *Flashback* "Man, they added eating to this game and the damn Deer won't stand still!" *Present* "Ohhh... yeah..." *Horde of Hive arrive on Earth* "Great... time to run! Maybe if I head towards Chicago, I can lose them underwater!" *Jumps into water with an instant death at 3 feet underwater; The items sink to the bottom of the water pit* "The heck, Bungie?! I just lost all my stuff! Well.. at least it's 3 feet underwater instead of 2 feet..." Lesson in this little situation (I'm being serious), unless Bungie specifically says "You can swim in water", make sure to leave your gear in a bank before you go test the swimming theory for the first time.

1 RespuestaHave you seen the swimming feature in the arma 3 beta? I don't have it, but I saw a video that looked pretty impressive. You could even shoot underwater with a special aquatic gun.
-
3 RespuestasIf it worked like how the Elder Scrolls does it that would be really cool
-
1 RespuestaEditado por The Cosmic Bard: 4/16/2013 12:22:08 AMMaster Chief: Survives sub-orbit free fall without parachute; Dies in 2 feet of water. please make me not have to say the same for Destiny.

2 RespuestasHmm I don't know about swimming. I am pretty happy with how metroid pulls off underwater areas. You simply sink and walk along the surface as you would on land. I would bet thats what such high tech armors would allow us to do anyway....swimming is obsolete :P
-
1 RespuestaThat would be very nice. I remember playing Halo CE on the Silent Cartographer and getting lost underwater because I got to a point to deep to jump out of from the top of the Warthog to see where land was. It was awesome.
-
1 RespuestaSwimming animations are fine and all, but what about good ol' walking animation up ladders?
-
2 RespuestasErrrrr--- Didn't you know? By at least 2552, water is highly lethal. Even going head under for a few seconds.
-
1 RespuestaNo shooting underwater, but yeah swimming would be cool.
-
17 RespuestasYou guys waste your idea requests on the stupidest shit. "Bungie don't forget to make a reload animation! It's really important to the game as we will be using guns A LOT, so don't forget!"
-
10 RespuestasI never did enjoy how other first person perspective games employed swimming, and removing the instant death with water thing will remove an important tool that Bungie had for putting boundries on their area without being overly overt, but given the explorative nature of the game, I guess it would be pretty cool if we could go diving for ruins. Would we be able to use our guns while swimming? Or would we have to touch bottom to gain stabillity? Or would we need to wield special underwater gear? How will breathing work? Should we just pretend that ALL helmets are waterproofed (they seem to work fine in space), or should we force players to wear special equipment for underwater adventures? I wouldn't mind Bungie trying to bring the experience of swimming alive in the first person perspective, but it would be quite the task.

28 Respuestasnot to mention no dying because of two feet of water like a Spartan did when there WAS water like in every multiplayer map.
