I think it's only a matter of time. It's simply just a matter of time.

Here's how the South could secede. Step 1: Announce seccession. Step 2: Wait for King Obama to send troops in to take the South back. Step 3: Release the zombie virus into the North from the CDC in Atlanta. Step 4: Lol as the Military tries to scramble back to the North so everyone doesn't die there. Step 5: Everyone dies there anyway. Step 6: We hold the border with all of our guns which the North said we would never need. Lol. Step 7: Trololololol

3 RespuestasEditado por Quantum: 3/30/2013 7:05:42 AMhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_taxation_and_spending_by_state Taking this into account, I have noticed two correlating factors determining economic self-sufficiency (purely based on money terms). 1. Size of the state (population or otherwise). The smaller the state, the more likely it is more reliant on the federal government, and vice versa. 2. States which voted Romney are more likely to be in the bottom 25 states. States which voted Obama are more likely to be at the top of the list. So no, the South lacks the ability, and the legal status to secede.

4 RespuestasCan't happen. When the South seceded they basically had a self-sustaining economy. They produced raw materials like cotton and tobacco and traded them for manufactured goods to the North and to Europe, plus they had some of their own manufacturing. Nowadays they have none of those things. If they secede they will go bankrupt and everyone will leave if they can't maintain their own economy. Funnily enough, California is, if I remember correctly, pretty much the only state that could survive on its own.

I agree, with liberalism spreading like a parasite across the country the south may rise again one day.

2 RespuestasWant to pay tariffs on things you order online? Want to have to get a passport and go through customs to see family members a few states away? Want to operate under a different system of currency than everyone else? Want to have different copyright laws that would end a great deal of the entertainment you enjoy? Then secession might be for you!

More like all the Pro-Free states secede

25 RespuestasEditado por M37h3w3: 3/29/2013 4:26:45 AMI hope they do. Then we can evict all the Republitards to the south and watch their "nation" crumble as corrupt business exploit them and they kill each other with fried food and guns. Then when they ask to rejoin the Union, we'll say "No."
-
If the north keeps being stupid, then yes it is possible.

i think this boils down to if will Mrs. Bobbitt try to get a knife again... #SouthWillRiseAgain #SlogansFoundOnBoxerShorts

Seeing as how so many northern people want us to secede and most of us don't want to put up with all the BS, I don't see why we couldn't.

1 RespuestaIt won't happen.

Don't really care.

I'd just as well see them all off. Let them form their own nation. They can call it "Jesusland" or "GlenBeckistan" or whatever the hell they want. So long as they're no longer draining the rest of the country by taking so much federal money and providing so little in return, I'm fine with it. I also really don't see the reason to have any sort of civil war over such a thing. If my roommate said he wanted to leave, how much sense would it make for me to tell him he had to stay and beat him up to prove my point? NONE! On a broader note, I think the U.S. has gotten too big. I feel this nation would be much better off if it were divided into 4 or 6 separate nations. Right now we have a legislature where ONE politician is supposed to represent roughly a quarter of a million people... should we be so surprised that our politicians are so out of touch with their constituents?
