I know I'm probably in the minority around here since I don't use "gay" to mean boring, distasteful, or something I don't like. Nor do I use "fag" in any context.
I think you could all learn something today.

2 RespuestasWhen you are talking like an English Gentleman. "We had a gay ol' time last night with the chaps."
-
1 RespuestaAm I the only one here who uses fag as another word for cigarretes?
-
2 Respuestasi can say gay and fag whenever i want.

Editado por Madman Mordo: 3/8/2013 2:33:59 PMI guess it was something that just kind of organically developed with modern language terms. I would be more inclined to agree with OP if gay was used in an offensive or insidious demeanor towards homosexual people, but not over something trivial like math homework.
-
1 RespuestaIll make this simple for you op. the words gay and fag were both hijacked from the public dictionaries to describe homosexuals, it's not their word so I can use it however I want to. -blam!- political correctness
-
1 Respuesta"All gays and fags will go to hell!" "What have you got against happy people and cigaretts?" OT: I don't see why it would be considered taboo, I think the way you use the word and your whole sentance matters more than just the simple use of the word.
-
Why would I use gay to describe dragonflies?
-
You know, I learned today that if you don't like gay people, you probably shouldn't say something like, "All gays and fags need to burn in hell!" in a room full of people who are gay/lesbian. The college cafeteria: keeping detriments out since forever.
-
I need to break this habit.
-
Well this is hella gay.
-
Only when referring to an actual gay person. Using it as an insult is a cheap crutch that only makes people think less of you, rather than the person you're trying to insult.

1 RespuestaI don't use just "gay" as an insult. It advertises the fact that you're an uneducated dumbass. It's almost funny watching brain-dead high school boys use it for things that aren't even gay-like at all.
-
When I am referring to the homosexual community, I use the word gay. But I also use the traditional meaning. I'm quite gay atm.
-
Well, I don't even swear in the first place, so I'm good!

I'm bi and I still call things "gay". It's pretty heavily ingrained into me, and it just comes out. I've been trying to stop though. The people around me say it all the time, so it sticks unto me. I wish I could tell them to start using an other term, but I'm paranoid about them finding out.
-
1 RespuestaThis is gay.
-
the only term i don't like is 'fag'. i really couldn't care less when someone uses 'gay'.
-
2 RespuestasI think the only people that are offended by the term are not in the LGBT community. But I still dont use it as an insult.
-
Fag (făg) n. 1. An extremely annoying, inconsiderate person most commonly associated with Harley riders. 2. A loud and obnoxious person who owns or frequently rides a Harley.
-
It's ok to use whenever you want, however you want, whatever way you want. That doesn't mean it's courteous.
-
Stay with scientific terminology. Homosexual
-
When you're saying you're happy.
-
8 RespuestasPeople can choose to be offended or not to be offended. It's not someone's fault that you're offended it's yours. When people say something is gay it's almost always negative but it's almost never malicious towards homosexuals. People need to recognize that and get over themselves.

1 RespuestaThe words "gay" and "fag" aren't going away. It best to just let the meaning change rather than stop using them. Every time someone says that a people should stop using those words, all they are doing is reinforcing the connection of those words to gay people.
