I feel that used game sales hurt the video game industry, and should be stopped. I dismiss any "evidence" showing anything other than what I know to be true, used games sales steal from hard working developers. I think that sores like Gamestop and EB should be run out of business for creating an industry that kills what it feeds on.

2 RespuestasI can't believe how many people in this thread are taking him seriously. Charlie, 10/10, 7 points originally, 3 bonus points for causing so much butthurt.
-
First time I read the title of the thread: "I support these efforts to block the sale of used guns." 2nd time "I support all efforts to block the sale of used guns." Enter thread "I feel that used gun sales hurt the video game industry..." Me: wut? 3rd time: "I support all efforts to block the sale of used games." Me: Oh Ha Charlie you're funny. 8.5/10 You probably could have caused more havoc with what I thought you were going to talk about.

2 Respuestas
I dismiss any "evidence" showing anything other than what I know to be true.
You people are taking this seriously. That statement proves this thread is supposed to be a joke. He's just being the typical person that only believes what they want to believe. It doesn't matter what people prove to them they still believe what they believe.
-
No they don't.
-
What if I wanted to borrow a game from my friend to see if it's worth the buy? A demo doesn't really cut it nowadays.
-
I'm fine with stores not being able to do it. Just dont prevent me from selling my copy to someone else because the game is garbage. Thats the way I feel about it. Allow it on craigslist but not in game stores or force game stores to provide a percentage to the developer. If they ban used games then make a game cost $40 instead of $60

3 RespuestasWell charlie, I'm disappointed in you for this, you have just lost some of my respect for you. have fun with being ignorant ant trying to kill and already ding industry faster.
-
2 RespuestasAre you putting this out specifically for Gamestop and EB or are you venturing into used games on Ebay or selling my copy to a friend etc? The latter of which has been going on a lot longer than the former. Sorry Charlie, but I'm already under the pretense of the game has been bought once. Its made the money they already expected it to make. If they want to put in an online pass or whatever go for it, but turning around and trying to make double money off of something they've already sold to the consumer, while a good business maneuver I can respect that, doesn't float with me.

1 RespuestaI make sure to pirate all my software to compensate for the money consumers are losing thanks to stricter licensing from publishers. I try my best to give back to the community by distributing as much DRM free (cracked) software as possible.
-
The only used Video game related thing I have ever purchased was a controller, so I don't really care.
-
It's not like these people run out of Gamestop and spend the money on strippers and Doritos, they're buying more games.

4 RespuestasEditado por Crash: 2/21/2013 8:54:07 PMYeah, because once a game has outlived its shelf life, nobody should be able to get it at all. That would really help developers gather new fans.

2 RespuestasEditado por BlackHeaven: 2/21/2013 8:48:49 PMIf we can't buy used games, their default price should be lowered to $45. I have no statistics to back that demand up, so deal with it.

14 RespuestasI disagree. It's an obvious act of greed from developers who earn millions anyways.
-
Agreed. Although I'm worried that if they were completely stopped we could be looking at another video game crash.
-
1 RespuestaYes very good idea, but why stop there? Let's halt the sale of Used Cars, and Houses too!
-
I agree that used games should be stopped. But in a hard economy I don't want to see stores like EB and Gamestop run out. The people that work there just do their job. And everyone needs a job these days.

3 Respuestas
I dismiss any "evidence" showing anything other than what I know to be true,
Don't know if troll...

1 RespuestaGamefly hurts FAR more than used games.
-
I don't. Almost all my games are used, since I buy them months after release. If they do this, I'll rent games, unless that is also included.
-
It's a gray area for me.
-
1 RespuestaI'm of a similar mindset. That said, I think that eventually they (and resellers and retail) won't be able to keep up with the option to download directly, so it's an issue that's likely to go away as technology progresses.
-
While I agree that used game sales do hurt developers and publishers, I do think that they need to stop acting like innocent victims in the whole thing.
-
2 RespuestasWhat I'm confused by is that this effect is only beginning to hurt the industry now? The concept of used games have been around for ages. Why the sudden change to: 'oh this is hurting us'? And is it hurting the developers? Or just the publisher's money bags?

5 RespuestasYou make the dumbest threads I swear to God.
