People who think Lobby Balancing is easy don't understand how math works.
Bungie uses an AVERAGE skill of players. Everyone has a range of skills they can play at (depending on map, weapon meta, state of mind, teammates' loadout, enemy loadout, preferred area of play, etc.)
Bungie only has the ability to LOOSELY control the Lobby ("outlier protection).
Destiny is a "positive-feedback" game, where the better you do at the start, the better you keep doing (you get supers faster, perks like kill clip trigger, generate more orbs for teammates, etc.)
If even ONE person plays outside the norm for that game out of bounds for that game, Lobby Balancing is RUINED, and the game outcome will be skewed.
Remember: Bungie is working with averages, and you are using a single data point to prove your argument. You don't see the calculations in the background. Destiny is not the most popular game, and bungie has to prioritize connections over SBMM, so this problem is UNSOLVABLE.

LoL you’re missing the point. Every version of lobby balancing has failed miserably. It has never worked in this game. They’ve changed the algorithm 20 times now. So the easy option would be to turn the crap off. Like it used to be.

I'm sure that "random" teams resulted in more Mercy rules (predictable game outcomes) than their current Lobby Balancing system. Remember, as you've said, they've tried everything by now, including random teams. They have the data. All We have is our little snippet

Never said it was easy maybe you’re talking to someone else. Bungie has a job to do none the less. I don’t need someone to break down all the variables I’m aware it’s a complex algorithm. I’m still gonna say it needs to be worked on it’s called feedback which isn’t to you it’s regarding the game Bungie made not you.

Right, but you are asking for them to improve a system that is already as good as it gets with the current playerbase. I understand you don't like it, but I don't think it gets any better without changing the matchmaking parameters to be more strict (more SBMM), and I personally don't want to wait in orbit 5 minutes for a game... Do you? Average Lobby Balancing When Skills Are Spread Out (large disparity between best and worst players): * Results in the "good" players being forced to carry all the below average players. * Game seems "easy" to good player but everhone else on that player's team has a horrible time (they lose all 1v1s) Snake Draft When Skills Are Spread Out: * Results in less "balanced" teams than the above scenario, BUT individual players can find more enjoyment (less likely for EVERYONE to be better than you) * This is the system Bungie currently uses If you can suggest a better system, I am sure Bungie would pay your for your ideas. Heck, EVERYONE would pay you, because you would have solved an unsolvable (or at least very challenging) problem.
