Voidwalker is currently being carried by Devour and Child of The Old Gods! That is due to Chaos Accelerant losing its 30 percent Damage Buff and that the Charging of Grenades isn't worth it. Since Choas Accelerants' effects either make Grenades worse or are so outdated, they are better at just using a weaking fragment or a fragment that actually improves a series of void grenades. But that's for a different discussion.
This leads me to say that the child of the old gods has many drawbacks to kamaizakizing it's self into walls, ledges, the skybox, or simply staying by your side in gunfights. Having a delay before begins to apply weaken and just the damage being bad. Especially if you run empowring rifts to try and gain health regen for sacrificing your healing rift. Which a mass majority of players don't even know that child of the old gods functions differently with an empowering rift.
A change that I feel would drastically help the child of the Old Gods would be by default you could Repick up The Void Soul. So you wouldn't need briar bind, especially since, as previously mentioned, it kamaizakizes itself. This would allow you to not be shoehorned into Briarbinds and let you actually try out better builds. Also, going from 2 fragment slots to 3 would also be a warm welcome fo the childd of the old gods. Also, if Damage Dealt from an empowered child gave Dark Matter Healing Returns on each tick, I could see myself actually using an empowering rift.
To make Briarbinds worthy of using it, you should gain the option to consume your own child after you activate your rift normally. Consuming your own child applies a weaking curse around you. Applying weaking around you for a short duration increases ability regen or health depending on your rift. Successful kills while weaking are applied grants escalating damage to your weakening effects and its timer refreshes.

It's high time Bungie gets off their collective arses and makes Chaos Accelerant better. It's been terrible for years now. YEARS!

3 RespuestasVoidwalker. Carried by devour? You don't say! That's like saying Sentinel is carried by overshield or Nightstalker by invisibility. Duh! That's the main term of the subclass! It's like radiance is Gunslinger's best friend, cure and restoration are Dawnblade's best friends, and... I actually don't know what the hell Sunbreaker's best friend is.

1 RespuestaTry arc subclass
-
Does this mean we get to report Bungie for neglecting Child of the Old Gods?
-
1 RespuestaYeah personally want that damage bonus on charged grenades back, also would like something like vortex nova bomb kills extend the vortex duration and emit more pull effects. Side note also not a fan of the upcoming handheld supernova change, this thing should be a freaking close range nuke but they to scared to do it
-
3 RespuestasWait, when did they remove the chaos accelerant damage buff?
-
What it should do is is function the same but instead of flying out, should provide an aura round your body (i guess abiy like banner of war)

3 RespuestasVoid lock definitely got powercrept the hardest when prismatic released. I'm still a fan of its kit, but grenades have been in a weird place since strand release honestly. If they buff the damage of the vortex nova bomb I could at least find some justification besides void baby. That aspect to me isn't worth it for pve. To make void practical again they would need to buff the volatile rounds fragments duration, increase damage from the fragment where abilities kills cause explosion, and reduce the penalty for weakening grenades. They could also buff some the void exotics that wouldn't benefit the prismatic class like they are doing with the hunter chest piece.

5 RespuestasYa it’s definitely been powercrept. Devour is wide spread, void Nades beside charged vortex aren’t great and isn’t worth the aspect slot of chaos accelerant, CotOG hasnt been touched since its release. A few things need to happen IMO. 1. Aspects apart from devour need some “oomph”, and a 4th aspect needs to be introduced. Chaos Accelerant needs its bonus damage in PvE returned, and CotOG should also make enemies volatile. Chaos accelerant or CotOG should gain three fragment slots. 2. Briar binds needs its “deploy” and “ready” timer doubled, and rift regen needs to be apart of the exotic on top of the intrinsic regen from kills in the aspect. Even a 50% additive bonus would be fine. And to allow for better use of the exotic in end game, you gain DR (25%) within 20 meters of the deployed soul. 3. Controversy hold needs to get the Chaos Accelerant aspect intrinsically. 4. Nothing Manacles need a rework or major buff. Add a “graviton Lance esk” explosion that can continually chain if you defeat a combatant with a grenade. Added ability to consume both charges to deploy a “mini” scatter bomb that deals huge damage and make targets volatile. Supers are great, melee is actually strong now. So these are really the only things I see need to be updated. It’s not like Void Lock is bad in anyway it’s still very strong, but it’s necessity to always run devour and its lack of versatility for other exotics or aspects make it very stale.

2 RespuestasIf they weren't ready to go all-in with Prismatic, they shouldn't have introduced it. Fact is, having access to all subclass abilities at once is more fun than a single subclass. Just goes to show how desperate they were to get people to buy Final Shape that they weren't ready for the fallout of older subclasses being neglected. I certainly won't be using Arc next Episode any more than I already do.

I 2nd the motion to make Briarbinds ability to Pick up your child Intrinsic to the subclass.

Great suggestions for PVE Void Warlock.. its exactly why I only reluctantly use Void in PVE when bored. (I do however choose to main that in PVP) This would make it more exciting/powerful to use Voidlock. (haha I also forgot that about empowering and child)
