I don't believe Marathon will exist , it's already on life support
I expect it to be officially canceled any day now

Yeah after that video of the game director sitting there looking like he wasn’t sure what he was talking about I think it might get cancelled to avoid the disaster of the fallout from the release

And what an amazing update that was: "We.. uh.. we're still making a game. Can't tell you anything, can't show you any game play (though it's supposed to release next year) but ... yeah, we still exist and making.. something." No video would have been better than that imo.

I mean I don't plan to change your opinion but that's a pretty terrible take. The video's main purpose was to let us know they're still working on it lol, which is a direct contradiction to the commenters assertion that they expect it "canceled any day now." I'm not claiming it was an overly informative video, because it wasn't, but it was definitely enough to lead me to believe it's not getting "canceled any day now." No video would have been better *for that point* lol.

Let me give back the compliment: I think yours is a pretty terrible take and the video did more harm than good imo with nothing to show for after all this time... but to each their own.

I have a point and I made it but you refuse to understand it. So I'll go slowly to not lose you in the process: They made a video. They gave no real info other than "we still make Marathon". They said nothing new about it nor did they show any game play (keep in mind it's supposed to release 2025) Now again, please explain to me how it is a good look for Marathon when it's said to be released next year and has been worked on for several years now including being playtested by Tarkov players etc. Everyone is aware Marathon is still being worked on. Both Bungie and Sony said as much but idk what video you've been watching if you're still trying to tell me the game director's rambling made you think whatever they're cooking up will be good. Imo it did quite the opposite because if they don't have anything to show or worse, don't dare to show what they have... that is not a good look. Now that I elaborated on the point I was making from the start, maybe you're finally able to grasp it and stop accusing me of not having one just because you apparently gobble up everything Marathon related without question.

The point of the video, as I already said, was simply to dispell the MYTH that it either was getting canceled/not made/etc. If "everyone was aware Marathon was still being worked on" they wouldn't be expecting it to be "canceled any day now" which is the comment I responded to and the comment we are in a thread under RIGHT NOW. You STILL have not even broached the subject of how it did HARM. You have only given an opinion on it not doing any GOOD. Do you not understand the difference between those two concepts? JFC. How is it HARMFUL? I'm not even defending Marathon beyond dispelling the myth that it's being "canceled any day now." That's quite literally my only point but apparently making that point means I "gobble up everything Marathon related without question." Just anti-intellectual and wholy unserious.
