I was thinking about it and honestly I can't remember the last time I really wanted to use Stormtrance, Nova Warp, Dawnblade, Fists of Havoc, Hammer of Sol, Sentinel, Spectral Blades or Arc Staff.
Golden Gun, Bladefury, and Song of Flame are the only few that have any substance and Song of Flame just updates your grenade and melee so you can still access your kit.
I kind of feel like Song of Flame should be the standard. Imagine if the Hammer of Sol just updated your melee with the throwing hammer so it could further benefit from melee builds like One-Two Punch and honestly that could work with Bladefury too if the melees are made infinite. Maybe make the "Heavy Upward Slash" a slide move and offer better uptime on grenades so Grapple could be used in super.
I'm mostly just thinking. I like roaming supers but I feel like they're terrible these days. Maybe they need an overhaul

For your own sake don't use Arcstaff. So many weapons have explosive payload and if a bullet hits your block with that perk u insta die. Idk if its a bug or not but its been a thing for years now... Just use the blade super if u want a arc semi mobile super.

1 RespuestaI would LOVE the option to select a super on the fly. Say you playing Arc titan in a Nightfall. Having the option to go Fists of Havoc to easily rez an ally or deal with an unstoppable champion would be great, meanwhile when you get to the boss you can let a Thunder crash rip to decimate the boss. I do think roaming supers have a place in PVE but it is getting worse and worse with each content release. Having more and more bosses you can't physically attack is especially frustrating for titans who are limited on ranged options. I myself was hoping I was going to be able to grab the Witness by his big stupid head and just slam him in to the floor repeatedly. Instead I need to throw axes or throw hammers... legit the only options that class has outside of using there supers on adds.

On warlock I only use roaming supers unless end game

6 RespuestasEditado por huntingomer: 7/9/2024 9:11:40 AMI could see why you would think hammer of sol is outdated, it takes skill to use, but let me tell you I’ll wipe a whole team with hammers. You get a hammer, you get a hammer, you get a hammer Only viable super in pve in my opinion is twilight arsenal or blade fury if you have a boss you can melee

Outdated no. In need of buffs yes. Many of them need an exotic to feel usable.

They need to have all supers require skill instead of throwing dr, tracking, and auto targeting at things. Also reduce potency of single cast supers, elevating roaming supers by comparison as potentially higher yield as a trade off for higher player skill.

1 RespuestaThey all need to be updated with Subclass Verbs, and the ability to use Subclass Aspects and abilities during the Super. Stormtrance: Have sustained Arc chaining periotically generate lightning strikes that Jolt on chained enemies. Replace Ionic Blink with Lightning Surge when the Aspect is equipped. Have Lightning Grenade recharge rapidly during Stormtrance when equipped. Fists of Havoc: Add Jolt to the shockwaves created by the Slam (heavy attack), and have the light attack deal bonus damage to Jolted targets. Allow us to quickly recharge, and use, the Thunderclap melee during Fists of Havoc when equipped. Have the shockwaves from Fists of Havoc's heavy attack last longer, and deal escalating damage, when Touch of Thunder is equipped. Arc Staff: Allow it to use Ascension during the Super when equipped. Allow us to apply Jolt with Arc Staff after dodging with Lethal Current. Hammer of Sol: Allow it to use Consecration. Sentinel Shield: Allow it to recharge Shield Throw faster while blocking, and grant increased damage for a short duration after blocking incoming damage, when you have Offensive Bulwark equipped. When Unbreakable is equipped, releasing the Shield after blocking incoming attacks releases a ranged Void Blast that damages and Weakens. Spectral Blades: Allow the light attack to deal significantly more damage against Void Weakened targets when Stylish Executioner is equipped. Nova Warp: When Chaos Accelerant is equipped, a fully charged attack creates a second Void eruption that deals greater damage in a larger radius. Glacial Quake: Allow it to use Howl of the Storm again, but with longer distance on the wave, and larger Stasis Crystals. Allow us to create, pick up, and throw Diamond Lance during the Super, but have it deal Shatter damage on impact, instead of Freezing targets. Winter's Wrath: allow the shockwave from the secondary attack to Freeze surrounding enemies in its radius when the Frost Pulse Aspect is equipped.

The only roaming super I’ve really used the last few years is dawnblade with dawn chorus. If it weren’t for last season being solar heavy and the generous damage buff dawn chorus gives, I probably wouldn’t have touched it.
-
I love using Stormdancers Brace for higher uptime on Stormtrance but even at 10x of the buff it does mediocre damage to a boss unless it is a Patrol level enemy. Not that I expect it to completely delete a yellow bar enemy in a few seconds, but it should at least buff the damage to them particularly since you don't receive any energy back if you use it all to do damage.

1 RespuestaEditado por Itcus: 7/8/2024 12:39:48 AMDude, that new Warlock solar super it's insanely strong in PvP. Once I hear that thing pop I run the other way. They're like damn tanks.
-
They've needed an overhaul for 4 years now.
-
Roaming supers, what is that ?
-
The issue is (in PvE) the majority of content is so easy that it doesn’t necessitate roaming supers for ad clear since that can be easily achieved through weapons or regular abilities. Like yeah, I could pop my spectral blades to clear these ads, or I could just use prismatic hunter with combination blow and freeze them and ignite them with a melee that can chunk big targets while also constantly healing and going invisible with tons of DR while building an actual useful super like shadowshot really fast by stacking heavy handed and hands on mods.
-
I use Fists of Havoc, Hammer of Sol and Ward of Dawn regularly. Yes, I am that nostalgic. Fists of Havoc is actually good when used right. Hammer of Sol was never really bad and Ward of Dawn was turned into a PvE super by now for protection... I would say they are still useful. But I really hope Bungie buffs them with their mentioned "titan buffs on the way" in that recent interview.
-
2 RespuestasCause beyond PvP they're mostly not much better than most add clearing weapons. Hammers still decent in PvE though. But overall people seem to prefer dps supers over roaming in PvE cause of what they can do.
-
1 RespuestaDepending on the activity I'll run them, but generally I do prefer 1 shot supers just because they recharge faster. I think much of their problems stems from bungie nerfing them due to their potency in pvp.

5 RespuestasEditado por The Hermit IX: 7/7/2024 9:18:51 PMSong of Flame is excellent and I use it but right now how powerful Nova Bomb is I’m usually running that. Roaming supers need super quick cool downs in PVE to be used more.

Always has been

3 RespuestasTo be fair, Stormtrance got powercrept out of the meta entirely by Chaos Reach, Nova Warp got gutted due to PvP and hasn't been worth using since, Dawnblade has been bad ever since they removed bottom tree and won't be good again no matter how many times they buff its damage, the three Titan supers you mentioned are all three flavors of mediocre add clear, I'm pretty sure Spectral Blades also got nerfed into the ground due to PvP, and Arc Staff got powercrept out of the meta entirely by Gathering Storm, and again with Storm's Edge. I don't think they need an overhaul. Just buff damage, give all of them some sort of "refund super energy on kill either during or after the super ends" perk (exotic or base kit), and maybe reduce their DR in PvP so it's easier to shut them down if they just go charging into a 1v6 expecting the fact that they're in their super to make them invulnerable.
-
It’s simple. Our neutral abilities (grenades and melees) as well as our special weapons have gotten significantly stronger. We no longer need ad-clear supers in PvE. Most Raid encounters require more DPS than total damage. This is largely due to 20--blam!- DPS windows followed by 2-3 minutes of encounter. Ad clear super cooldowns have also increased due to PvP. These 3 reasons mean that single cast DPS or utility supers are the only viable options. The only roaming super that gets close is the new solar warlock super due to how it still lets you use your weapons.
-
Roaming Supers are the most fun to me, like Stormcaller with Crown, or Arcstrider with Raiden Flux , I miss how strong they were in D1, TTK Hammer was unstoppable, and the only counter was to run , even nerfed Blade Dancer took a well placed shotgun shot to stop Bur they have been neutered over the years from PVP snowflakes crying and Bungie giving in For starters they need alot more armor and damage resistance while in super , you should be nearly unkillable
-
I use a lot of hunter and warlock roaming supers still. Not so much titan. I have a few good builds with them, actually.

3 RespuestasEditado por stinkych33Ze: 7/7/2024 3:34:46 PMThe main problem is the Titan roamings. It’s literally all just Fists of Havoc, in Purple flavor, Red flavor, Blue flavor, and Watermelon Blast. They’re all carbon copies of one another, just bad movement supers that used to be decent but had their DR slashed, namely Fists and Quake.

Not because it’s viable. We need a tuning for these high cooldown supers
