Apparently you didn't read it.. I said warlocks dps. Then I said titan total damage not dps. You changed it in your head after I said it making it a conversation with yourself, just wanted to correct you

Which is fair, but when OP is discussing Titans generally total damage means jack all. In the time the Titan is winding up for the second axe the Hunter can easily have had their Still Hunt and Goldie fired off due to being able to preemptively pop them, beating the DPS and total damage of the Titan in one fell swoop. At that point the Titan is essentially powerless to catch up as the Still Hunt damage alone is able to keep the Hunter ahead. Especially when Celestial has the ability to more easily bypass soft health gates by being an immediate damage dealer while Twilight can easily lose an axe or two of damage.

Just get over it, titans have been top tier for most the game, the goldie sniper works just fine without nighthawk and hunters can’t run synthos and bonk/oneshot melee everything with insane damage when they’re running nighthawk. So much pathetic whining. And be in denial all you want about nearly half of all seasons where titans were and probably still are THE class for speedruns.

I couldn’t give a fiddlers about speed runs or a grapple melee exploit. It just sucks that I can load into the new raid and when we get to final boss can feel like an absolute waste because I could be doing far more damage on either of the other classes. I’ve had the same opinion before Hunters became the damage dealers, because I always run all three characters through raids and dungeons to masterwork the badge.

Not an exploit, and that was just one of the insanely OP titan builds.

It’s an exploit, yes. Grapple points were not intended to allow for the spamming of grapple melee. Exploit doesn’t require cheating. And I’d say it’s fairly up there for OP Titan builds as far as Endgame goes, only thing that comes close is the old hammer getting stuck in a boss trick. Maybe the Behemoth with a Bubble to minimise crystal spread for max damage. That’s about it for insane Titan PvE builds in terms of pure damage. Most of the rest has been in terms of pure survivability.

They were. It even states so in the skill it fully refunds your grapple and if it wasn’t intended to have the grapple melee (which is a melee for grapple only) refunded it would’ve been fixed shortly after Lightfall launch. But make up whatever you want to ignore the fact titans have been melee beasts/ stormnade gods for 10+ seasons

Stormnades lasted what… 2 seasons? And Melee builds have varied from release to release because guess what, Bungie developers themselves have said that they define Titans by their melee. Doesn’t do anything when you go up against a boss like Oryx or the Witness who completely invalidate that style of play. Also doesn’t do anything to justify them being underwhelming now, just like Hunters weren’t justified in being underwhelming before the introduction of Star Eater Scales.

Learn to aim a precision weapon and hit your shots… I’m 200% certain the witness can be easily 2-3 phased without supers.

Op is hunter hating whining, when warlock is dps king ( not that there is anything wrong with warlock being dps king this season or any season imo ) rambling about titan sustained damage. States nothing about warlock being tops with 2 choices and a 3rd option for total damage. If op thinks titan is bad op is not playing titan correctly...
