For everyone who hasn't seen it yet, now is your time. This movie was 2023's best movie of the year, and should not be slept on.
My goodness the acting and the writing is brilliant, the only time I have ever actually rooted for the humans to kill Godzilla.

4 RespuestasOk, I finally saw this yesterday with my sons and future daughter in law. My fanaticism for Godzilla makes me want to give it better marks than what I would ordinarily, for this was somewhat difficult to watch at times. I realize it's a Japanese dubbed film, cultural differences. whatever. The acting was better than all prior Japanese Godzilla movies, but the writing and dialogue was like their version of George Lucas wrote it. Through the first half hour the 4 of us were pinging of one liners left and right akin to Mystery Science Theater 3000 or Elvira (IYKYK), to all the way to easy to target banality of the dialogue and occurrences. Without giving anything away, But as with all it's predecessors, what makes the movie good is the monster and the effects they incorporated into this version of it. I freakin loved the aspect they gave to the concussion wave, and the other known Godzilla power move aspects. Oh, and the original Godzilla soundtrack and monster sounds.

1 RespuestaSo pumped. Never been a huge Godzilla fan tbh. And the new monsterverse just looks like cgi nonsense. However I want to see how -1 melds practical and cgi effects together (which I heard it does phenomenally).

2 RespuestasIt was almost as good as the fallout show

1 RespuestaIs this the one that follows Shin Godzilla? I'm not all caught up on all the Gozillaverse movies, but I did want to see more of that version's movies. Shin Godzilla's story made no sense to me whatsoever, but the effects were really cool.

4 RespuestasWithout giving anything away for anyone wanting to watch it but haven't yet, the way Godzilla used his atomic breath was without a doubt one of my favorite parts.
