I just won a game and had a huge comeback with my team we were getting pub stomped 0-2 and we came back with 3-2. How much glory did I get? 33. REALLY BUNGIE?! Why is this even a thing? It’s stuff like this that pushes players away from comp. Struggle so much for so little. Wins should give a minimum 100 glory no questions asked. Losing should take away no more than 25-50. End of story.

Ha! That'll be the day...

1 RespuestaI'd rather them get rid of countdown in comp.

Maybe you want to do some research first before posting here?

Your Ascendant lll that’s how it works! If they did like you said more players would get to the higher ranks because it would be easier and all that would do is devalue all the top ranks.

3 RespuestasEditado por Cal O'Mari: 3/1/2024 9:21:46 PMIt should really only be a 50% loss at most, and always an increase of double the loss rate. Anything more and its just malicious intent. This studio is THICK with malicious intent. I mean, they seem like a collection of the worst kind of people, to me. Like Meta or Google, except those businesses are actually successful, unfortunately. Maybe that seems harsh, but that's what I see, take it with a grain of salt. Its just an opinion, like anything else here. Very seldom do I see a studio go through the level of effort that Bungie does though, just to screw the players over; and its something that's just an average Tuesday there.

5 RespuestasEditado por Sky_hawk: 3/1/2024 6:27:46 PMThe ranked point system is idiotic… Sorry Bungie… At any competitive levels of sport disciplines… all participants (including fans) must know exactly what’s at stake if their team wins or loses. Why that is important??? Because in order to maintain the integrity of the competition… perception of fairness cannot be violated (that includes players cheating, referees fixing the game, and also a confounding scoring system on wins and loses). And that’s exactly what Bungie gave us… a confounding scoring system. Possible solutions: (a) Static scoring system (W +100pts) (L -50pts). This concept is NOT dependent on any other factors. Simply +100 on wins, and -50 on loses, with a quitter penalty of -200pts (instead of suspending players for 30 minutes). (b) Static scoring system + Extra Factors (the above idea + extra 25 points for performing very well, and possibly even + extra 50 points if you performed exceptionally well, even on loses… so if you get -50 for losing but you performed well or exceptionally well you also get +25 or +50). Scoring system on very close tied games (with the final round tied or overtime) would also have to be considered… as those loses are emotionally exhausting… So losing 200 points on these games (as it is presently) feels like a gut punch… Perhaps such loses (instead of -50) would be scored -25 to soften the blow… etc. Option A is the easiest to implement. Probably, this would be welcomed by most players without much criticism (including myself). Option B is more complicated, this would have to be well analyzed first for all possible outcomes and all possible factors. Still achievable though.

Editado por eeriearcade: 3/1/2024 5:06:20 PMI think they definitely need to make the points system clearer. Displaying everyone’s ranks and breaking down the points won/lost would be very helpful. However, +100pts per win and -50pts per loss would mean everyone with over a 33% win rate could climb to Ascendant, just by playing enough matches. With +100pts per win and -25pts per loss, you’d only need over a 20% win rate. The Competitive Division ranks should represent skill and performance, otherwise what’s the point in having them? We already have Crucible Rank with guaranteed progression from playing.
The points won/lost should be based on the ranks of whoever you beat or got beaten by: Beat lower rank = light reward Beat identical rank = regular reward Beat higher rank = heavy reward Lose to lower rank = heavy punishment Lose to identical rank = regular punishment Lose to higher rank = light punishment Which is how I think it works, but it’s an obscure system that’s been changed, so I’m not sure exactly. More clarity needed, but not necessarily a points system change.
This is usually when I stop trying in Competitive mode, clearly I have reached my limit (or rather, the one Bungie wants me to have) so that I cannot go any further and challenge stronger opponents to get better. Maybe one day they will fix it, hopefully with next week's patch I will try it out again and see if it is any better.
