You need to read TWID again.
Optimal TTK (headshot with primaries) stays the same… 140 HCs still 3 tap (77x3=231 damage). As long you can hit your headshots you’re still good.
Body TTK will be a bit slower though.
Special weapons will have a 20% buff… So, there shouldn’t be any difference in lethality for shotguns or fusions. Snipers will still kill with a headshot.
Special Ammo… sure you only have 2 at the beginning of the game and then you have to earn it by using a primary weapon (kills, assists) and by playing objectives (for exp, capturing the flag).
In a long run, this might actually be a good change.

Editado por Honed: 2/17/2024 3:27:48 AMthis change, is not why i play destiny 2, i played it for the special ammo, i played it for the abilitys.. i mean sure for stuff like competitive, this seems balanced, but i don't care for balance all that much in 6v6 , I care about using what's fun.. not being a bow b**h at the back of spawn lmao.

Fyi… You’ll be starting a match will special ammo worth of 2 kills… if you die… you still keep ammo. There is no pressure to use special ammo ASAP. Use it however and whenever you want. Your special weapon TTK be exactly the same as it is right now (shotties, fusions, snipers, are getting 20% buff). The only real difference… is that in order to get additional special ammo, now you will have to use a primary gun for kills or assists or when doing game objectives (for example, capture the flag). Your abilities will still be as powerful (except for threadlings) you could still use threadlings for chip damage and get easy 3 tap kills even against titan overshields. And working on improving primary weapon skills is not a bad thing. Let’s just wait and see how those changes will turn out. Maybe we will all like it…

Editado por Honed: 2/17/2024 3:46:28 AMability regin is based on how well your doing, aka not the 6v6 i want, special ammo needing kills is not what i want, this is not the 6v6 i want, it might be good for trails and comp, but not normal 6v6, and forcing it on me dose not make me want to play d2, it makes me want to uninstall, cause this isn't the game I want to play... i enjoy the wildness of 6v6 control, this is less of what I want, but yeah its more "balanced" and that to me is boring. mayhem, and that one game mode where you die in 1 hit from like everything, starts with a c i think, i forget, those where a few of my fav modes, but 6v6 control was my fav.
-
Then play Mayhem????
-
Mayham is just supers every 3 seconds, and a gernade every second, thats too much, the 6v6 we have right now is the perfect blend of abilitys gun play and special.
-
Ok. I get it… Keep in mind that Bungie may change how special ammo is earned for 6v6 games if the flow of the game will be too slow or too boring. They started with something new… Let’s give it a try.
-
Editado por Honed: 2/17/2024 3:55:51 AMill try it, ill give it my best foot forward, but if i hate it. destiny will be dead to me, and i REALLY don't want that, cause this has been my fav pvp game. i dont understand why they cant have 2 different playlists.

At 100 resilience 3 crits with 140 HC will not be lethal any more if you have just 1 point of damage drop off on any of the shots. Thats a big deal I dont think people are getting. 120s go to 3 crits required for 80 resilience & even precision instrument wont effect this if the target has 90 resilience.
-
Yes and No. No… if you stay in the weapon’s optimal range, then you shouldn’t have any problems with 3 taps most of the time (with the exception for healing rifts and overshields - that’s why hunters will continue using threadlings for chip damage in order to ensure 3 taps with 140s). Yes… it will be an issue (as it should be) if you start shooting 140s from beyond their optimal range.

It's checkmate (aka pretty much vanilla d2) the likely hood of it sucking is extremely high.

Editado por Sky_hawk: 2/16/2024 3:30:52 PMTTK is not changing: Fusions, shotguns, snipers will have the same TTK All Primaries will have exactly the same optimal TTK. Bodyshots for most weapons will stay the same, with the exception for Hand Cannons (5% nerf) and SMGs (3% nerf). 2 meeles to kill (all melees are getting 16% buff) Supers are getting a buff too. The only real difference is that you have to earn special ammo by killing, or assisting, or doing objectives. Keep in mind that players will be starting a match with special ammo worth of 2 kills (exactly the same as right now).
-
So why not just nerf HCs and SMGs and add the special ammo bar? Instead of adjusting HP and rebalancing the whole sandbox around it?
-
Bungo said in TWID that the extra HP allows them to balance the game much easier… so maybe that’s the main reason (assuming they’re telling the truth).
-
Why not make max hp 2000 then, and add an extra 0 to all the damage numbers? same effective hp more room, 30 hp means they have to rebalance everything.
-
No they don’t have to rebalance everything… as the optimal TTK stays the same for most of the things in the game (weapons, melees, supers). Special weapons will be as lethal as right now (20% buff) all players will have special ammo at the start of a match worth of 2 kills (this is exactly as it is right now). The only real difference is… that you have to earn extra special ammo via kills, assists, or objectives.
-
And to get the same ttks they had to balance around 230 hp instead of 200. While the optimal ttk may be the same all ttks outside of that are different and damage fall off is more impactful. Everything that isnt the optimal ttk in the optimal range has been rebalanced. If the only difference was the special ammo meter, then thats all they would have changed.
-
Damage fall off values stay the same, with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions (for example, Devil’s Ruin nerf) . Essentially, all primary weapons will still kill in the same ranges (same TTKs) as long you hit your headshots. Most people do that anyway. Body shot TTKs for primaries will be slightly longer because of the extra 30HP (and not because of damage fall offs). And if body shot TTKs turn out too severe then Bungo will have no choice but to buff it. Trust me, this Forum will be flooded with posts asking exactly that on March 5 when the update arrives. Keep in mind that all special weapons will keep their lethality (20% buff). Shotties, fusions, snipers will still perform exactly the same as it is right now. Out of these only snipers get a small adjustment to aim assist (10% nerf). The rest stays the same.

Bungie should hire you for comms. I work in their field so I get their TWID's descent into a morass of details, but the average player needs to know exactly what they're in for, and you nailed it perfectly.
