SOTG in a nutshell: We know we recently acquired billions but we only have a skeleton crew working on destiny and that's not going to change because destiny is no longer our focus.

Nope, no clue why they just don't hire more devs if it's really that big of an issue. They recently acquired billions as well as millions through lawsuits. It's their business decision to kill off the game 🤷♂️ glad they were transparent about it though, saves me some money

That’s how I see destiny now. They’re one year away from meeting that ten year plan they started when destiny was first made, marathon just got announced what 3 months back? I’m betting that’s their new main focus while destiny takes the scraps of what’s left for their free time developers and once the ten year mark is here destiny goes on life support with the bare minimum dev support. Just enough to have servers running but almost no more new content. It’s coming I promise, destiny has at least one more year left if not two before it’s a thing of the past. Bungie is moving on.

If they can't make a single PvP map because it'll get rid of their ability to create a exotic mission or very low effort seasonal story content where you run the same activity you did the week before so you can see a black and white cut scene of "pictures" or in some cases just vendor dialogue...then that tells me they also can't make new strikes either or much of anything else because they don't have the staff on hand working on destiny to do so.

D2 will eventually be like d1 as d1 right now - barely alive. There’s no Trials/ Iron Banners/ no new raids, ect. Strikes and raids continue their usual rotation and Xur pop up on Fridays and leaves on Mondays. That’s my guess when the game do finished it’s final story.
