Tell me how do you take down a barrier champion without the mod

A barrier champion is pretty feasible to do that with even on GM. Overload pushing it but if it sits still then possibly. An unstoppable is a different story. Just sheer brute force with everything at once.

So brute force it and hope it dies before using ability? And what happens if you can't kill them before they use their ability? The run is doomed?

Sometimes. Depends. It's hard to mess up on a barrier though honestly.

Hard to mess up even on solo?

Depends on method. If you're freeze spamming and nuking then not at all. Pure nuke, more prone to error but can be recoevred. You just need to notice early when you're timing is off for nuking to reset and try again before having dumped all your ammo.

So you're shoehorned to use freeze spamming and nuke or champion mods are a must, that's not what a good game do for "shaking up the meta" and I rather change champion mods into optional power boost as optional meta for those who like to min-max while those who don't can still use their loadout with slightly lower performance

Have the whole team shoot at it. Works all the time. If solo, I use witherhoard and LFR.

So kill it before it uses ability? And if you can't kill the champion, tough luck, the run is doomed?

I’m pretty sure most people complaining do a lot of solo activities so having 3 players shooting a does not help. Use the solo mod whatever strongest grenade can use fusion on my solar warlock and Immediately hit them with a couple bursts of merciless and they’re dead.

I was referring to the barrier comment other guy made, not unstoppable. Now that you want to mention it, I have done it with my team without mods. If it takes damage it can die. Strategy.

No, that was a basic assumption. I do it the efficient way, but in times where I don’t have the mods I have ways to counter.

In master and GM level stuff? No. That’s most likely what op is referring to the cost being to high in. Sure in legend content just have the whole team focus the champion and it does without mods. Not in GM or master level stuff. Unless there is an outlier like titan storm grenades last season
