Take rift out of comp
It is the most ill-received gamemode, what made you think we'd like it in comp?
Personally, I think comp should just be skirmish from d1

If Bungie is going to subject us to games like Rift or CTF, then make them big team battles (at least 10 players per team). Heck, even a big team battle with Control or Clash would be fun. Or maybe a game that is weapon specific (all players use snipers or pulse rifles or hand cannons, etc).
