Specific METAs have always ruined this game. Bungie thinks that the game is simply a shooter versus an ARPG looter shooter. METAs should ONLY come from build-crafting collection between weapons, exotics, combat mods, mods and experience of the player. This is why the game always feel underpowered because you are playing against Bungie inability to understand this, power levels, the nerfs and buffs that limit your power and play and the inability for players to change their loadouts.
Bungie doesn’t simply think this game is a shooter. They are very adamant on this game being one of those mmo rpgs although it isn’t, they don’t just think the game is just a shooter. And in every MMO like game there are definitely metas, it’s literally in every gme with multiple options and loadouts.

Exactly. It is like they apply the RPG changes first and then the shooter. The game should flourish in balance for the shooter side with the RPG element providing synergy aligned with power for the gunplay and gameplay. I defeat someone with a headshot, it should grant a perk combination between the weapon and RPG side. All they have done is repeated a cycle that works and plays for the players who prefer the easy route of gameplay versus the fun one.

Any mmo game has a most effective tool available & that’s what drives a meta. Balance would be boring, and that’s not what destiny is. I mean, this game does have a pretty firm track record it’s not like this is new by any means.

This game is dying because they are using overpowered concepts as balance and content. It is creating this fake pretense of power and it is killing its ability to reach its potential in diversity, creativity and variety. This is not a MMO so please stop using this term to describe Destiny. There is nothing massive about Destiny in terms of numbers other than the players playing the game overall. The most amount of players you can have in one major end game activity is 6-12 players which is small in MMO terms. MMO means to me roughly 12+ and up in any activity and even 12 is still considerably small. It is a looter shooter ARPG or more closely relative to a MOBA. The game isnt even open world completely and that should be a huge misunderstanding on the term used to describe Destiny as a MMO. Bungie barely understands what a looter shooter is considering how the loot itself is hidden behind power leveling, an excessive grind and a faulty RNG system.
