You say that, but when ESPN calls it "white balling" instead of black balling, which has nothing to do with skin color at all, then you don't underestimate the power of stupidity.

  • You’re just giving articles that nobody actually cares about way more weight than they actually have. In the years that people have been using “Sherpa” (even during all of this supposed cancel culture stuff) nobody has ever taken a second glance and there has never even been the vaguest actual mainstream outrage. Gaming journalism doesn’t even count because their whole goal is to get you to click. There’s nothing of substance. Ironically you getting uppity about some article gives it more weight than if you just ignored it like basically everybody else does.

Ironically you getting uppity about some article gives it more weight than if you just ignored it like basically everybody else does.[/quote] I'm not getting uppity. I made a comment that sherpa isn't a culturally insensitive term. You're the one who's making the conversation draw out longer than it needed to. You asked for proof, I gave you proof. You scoffed at my proof, and I showed you evidence that even small nonsense can blow up and how cancel culture is insideous. People within the game don't matter, it's when the people outside the game take notice. Trashy game bloggers act as that pass through. Think back to every piece of cancel outrage you've ever seen. Has any of those people been a part of the thing they're canceling? They have not, and when they move on to something else, all that's left are angry fans. Look at the Cleveland Guardians, formerly the Cleveland Indians. Got canceled by non baseball fans, changed their name to appease bloggers, and the number of season tickets they sold didn't go up by even a little bit. Never heard a fan inside the stadium complain about it once, but it happened anyway. I've seen enough convos about sherpa being deemed "insensitive" to be annoyed, and Bungo is very...we'll call it receptive...to such feedback. If someone made a big enough stink, the term will disappear.

  • What have you seen, an article nobody cares about and a few tweets nobody has ever read or something?

  • I was wondering if you had anything of substance and not baity gaming journalism that nobody cares about.

The group of people who ultimately got Cleveland baseball's name changed was from Toronto, and the group had like 160 people in it. And they weren't even native American. I didn't say it was likely, or even about to happen. I said I'd seen enough to know the rumblings are there and I think they're stupid.
