The only way that Machine Guns can be viable in end-game content, without providing it with a significant damage buff, is to increase its overall ammo. They simply do not do enough damage to champions or bosses to be used against them. I understand that this is intentional but they’re equally as useless against red bars due to the fact that you run out of ammo too quickly. I’d argue that GLs suffer from the same problem. If you don’t want them to do significant damage to bosses, then they need more ammo to compensate.

5 RespuestasMGs need a power boost. They are underpowered as heavy weapons. Their ammo economy is fine.
-
27 RespuestasOnce again. MACHINE GUNS ARE ADD CLEAR... NOT BOSS DPS. Bungie even said this when they told us what roles weapons fill in the game.
-
5 RespuestasAt GM level nothing holds enough ammo or deals enough damage to champions. I would like to see more heavy ammo drop in pve, just in general. I believe a dev mentioned recently that you need like 15 kills without dying to proc heavy ammo finders. Which in GMs can be tough since your generally team shooting and dying can be easy.

1 RespuestaI personally think that the only real buff they need to be viable is making them use special ammo instead of heavy (legendary LMG’s only, exotic LMG’s can stay heavy). You’ll reliably get more ammo for them and in turn use them more, sure you’ll have to adjust the damage values for each archetype and how much ammo you would receive from a brick plus that would allow more diversity in loadouts

11 RespuestasI use MGs in GM's mainly (Thunderlord most of the time) it has 243 if you use MG reserves. By usually every boss fight I'm over 200 rounds 99% of the time. Anymore would make just be to OP. I save it for Champs and clumps of adds. 😱

9 RespuestasThere is only 1 machine that will ever be viable in this game, and you know what it is.

6 RespuestasWith the exception of Gambit, where I run with Truth just to hear the sweats cry about “too much heavy”, I run MGs exclusively in all other content. Often Thermal Erosion or Recurrent Impact. Hammerhead before the sunset. Sometimes Heir Apparent, sometimes Xeno. When paired with the right armor mods and Actium War Rig I have no issues. Maybe it is because I am a former M-60 gunner when I was in the military. I understand trigger control to not waste ammo, real or virtual. I counted rounds so well I engaged a target and head-shotted a TC out of his hatch on the last round in a belt. Through a starlight scope with no assistant gunner. You sweats and try hards who spray n pray are causing your own problems because you really have no idea what you are doing.
-
9 RespuestasRecurrent Impact with enhanced field prep has 540 rounds I think, which is kind of insane. I don't really know what I'm talking about with MG's in general because of how little I use them but I wanted to throw that number out there.

1 RespuestaXeno does kinda decent against bosses and Champs. But I agree, I normally use Thunderlord or Xeno for fun not for endgame stuff
-
I wouldn't mind that I have a corrective measure with demolitionist and thresh which plays perfectly into my nezarecs sin build. And I mainly kill small enemies to get that

3 RespuestasA heavy weapon designed primarily and specifically for "add-clear" is always going to be a losing proposition. There are plenty of Kinetic and Energy weapons that do the job as well or better than an LMG but there aren't many Kinetic/Energy weapons that compare to the DPS potential of other weapons found in the Power slot. Because of this, LMGs will almost always be left behind barring any kind of exploit or artifact mod abuse. I have no idea why Bungie thought this was a good design direction, but until they correct that direction, LMGs will continue to languish and serve no real practical purpose.
-
Avalanche is the only machine gun that needs the reserves buff. It has a lower base reserve than others of its archetype.
-
I have been diligently using Commemoration since DSC came out and it gets 296, which is pretty good.
-
Because they're not designed for boss damage. Ad clear wise, they're one of the best weapons assuming you're a titan with actium war rig.

Editado por Demon_XXVII: 8/14/2022 9:57:54 AMI wouldn’t mind a 100% increase in Xenophage mag capacity + the ability to hit crits! Oh and a catalyst that allows an optional 2-4 burst shot/perpetual/headseeker/explosive incendiary rounds 😆
-
Id like more HMGs too. So many cool ones sunset.....

15 RespuestasSure, I’ll take another MG buff. I’ve been using them for a while and Bungie just keeps buffing them.
