and majority of the crucible population is clueless how to play PvP. SBMM won't cure this -
Reading bullcrap like this is exactly proving how clueless and out of touch you guys are when it comes to this. I know I'm clueless and have no idea how to play PVP in this game. Fine, great. So if the "majority" of the PVP population is like me, then I just want to be matched up with those guys so we can all have fun together in a FAIR and COMPETITIVE PVP experience. I should not ever EVER have to be matched up with you and your ilk as often as this game does. Comprende? What is so -blam!- hard about understanding this? No wonder there's an F-the-Sweats vibe...condescending jerk with your "git gud" speech.

Honestly, just “git gud” lol, the game doesn’t have to be hard if you simply bother to try. This game is all about cheese, its so easy to annoy even the best player in the world if you run a cheesy build in this game. But hey get mad at OP because he has a point, you know better than the players that literally dedicate their time playing pvp. Do you guys think these pvp “sweats” have always been good? Everyone starts somewhere, you simply improve and you will eventually reach the sweat level without realizing. Sbmm basically punishes the good players that actually play the mode while rewarding the casuals that touch pvp once in a blue moon. That to me is a joke

No not everyone can reach sweat level. Some of us are older & have poor reaction times & no matter how hard we try we can only do as well as we do. I, for one, am happy about the return of SBMM & the reason people like me play little PvP is we are tired of being cannon fodder for the sweats.

  • Once again, as I stated, I have no problem with SBMM and as I stated before a majority of the crucible population is clueless about how to play PvP and SBMM won't cure this - that may not include you. The irony of all of this is you only care about your fun coming at the expense of someone else's. I would never tell someone to simply get good at their own expense just because I want to be an -blam!-. As listed at the bottom of the post, I offer to assist anyone who would want to learn just a litlte about PvP and am always open to helping the community. You're attitude is the exact attitude you can't stand from what you call Sweats - the only "condescending jerk" was you.

  • Let me rephrase the question Doc - What is your goal from PvP, like what would make you happy? And this is an actual honest question, I did go see what your career looks like in PvP and I'm not going to post stats but taking those into consideration - what would be your ideal lobby?

  • You're saying that the majority of the player base is like you and have no idea how to play PVP then why is it so hard for you guys to understand that you're the problem? How hard is it to sit down and figure out things that you do wrong? Why is it always bungies fault your poor experience? Why can't players like you sit down with others and peer review your own performance? Bungie should not cater to players like you because you don't learn. This is almost parallel to why Bungie doesn't want to speak to the community right now because we have users whom don't behave like they should. Imagine if they come out and say we're not going to improve PVP until you guys actually get better? I hope that they do in fact do that so people actually get the message. There's going to be no system in play that's going to fix what's broken with you guys.

Do you guys all have a Slack channel where you plan your responses? lol. Nobody is asking to be "catered" to. You realize that right? I don't want anything handed to me. I just want a chance to compete and have fun. You know this is a game right? But everything you are saying to us, applies to you. That's why I know you're full of it. Because if you applied everything you are saying to us, YOU should have no issue with this change right? I mean, you're just so good. You're just so adaptable. You're just so skilled. What's the problem with having to face others like you more and not lobbies full of scrubs like me?

  • Again the typical bot response. Just because I understand shooters and player performance and behavior does not make me a sweat at all. In fact I am not a sweat. I know players generally do not leave their skill windows and that they complain about the game system in play rather than their own performance. It in fact is asking for handouts because you complain about the overall PVP experience. When adjustments are made against the weapons that beat you all the time, it's a handout. When you ask for buffs to weapons that you need to use it's a handout. Conversation is so tiresome cuz most of you don't learn that your mistakes are your own mistakes. This is barring lag and cheating and whatnot. These are the realistic scenarios where you put yourself in positions you should not be in. When you guys do not learn and engage in the system, you lose the right to complain about it. If you sit there and commit a reasonable amount of time per day or some reasonable amount of time per week then you have more experience and you will in fact change your outlook of the system.

  • I dare you to find one time I ever asked for these things. Nope, I haven't. You've simply grouped me into some hated class of player based on....I don't even know what. I keep asking myself that if I were truly a top-tier PVP player, what about this change would bother me so much as it seems to bother so many of you. I can only come up with two things: 1. Just pure spite for the sake of spite 2. Fears that the current system which has served me so well, may no longer do so You're either just gatekeeping for your own benefit or being spiteful. Either way, it's a d-bag way to be.

  • Right, I did lump you in. Too bad. do your best to stand out from it. I don't care which system is put into play. There's no fear in my eyes about anything in this video game. It's a video game. If you're part of the player base that wants to do better and commits themselves then fine there you go you're that part of the camp. But a lot of you need to change your rhetoric and position. The system in play is not going to be perfect and you got to sit there and talk about your own bad performance and look for ways to improve yourselves. Love you only talk about what the system needs to do to change instead of yourselves.
I feel the same way, so what's the problem here? You and others argue so passionately for the status quo to remain, insulting others along the way, then when actually challenged throw out nonsense like this. I don't care either, because it's a game. And games should be fun and competitive. Which is why even in real life in nearly every aspect of competitive play from chess on up to tackle football, leagues/sports are broken up into divisions based on competition and fairness.

  • If you're still asking me what am I talking about then you aren't reading what I'm saying. no system put into place is going to be the miracle players want. Any system put into place will always be imperfect. What players fail to do is improve their own performance to the point where they can see the cracks in the system and call for improvements. Players do not put the work and commitment in to do this and earn that right. All casuals do is complain about the loadouts that are meta and call for tweaks because they can't seem to get around things.. Do you ever see PVP complaint posts? It's after a series of losses. The players never explained biases, their strategies, loadouts, people that they take, how often do they practice, etc. The posts basically say it's bungie's fault I'm having a bad time. When players stop engaging in that rhetoric and behavior, we can actually sit down and have a conversation as a whole. Potato sacks need to either get with the program or leave the PVP scene entirely so that way the community can sit down and actually talk about changes that are necessary for the game mode. You can't cater to a wide variety of players. Look at history. How long before they get PVP to where it needs to be? It's going to take a long time because they want a diverse player base. It doesn't work.

  •
no system put into place is going to be the miracle players want.
Nobody is asking for a miracle. Destiny 2 has the industry's worst PVP matchmaking. You realize I and others play different games, right? So it's not like this is a theoretical debate. We KNOW this works elsewhere and we know how bad it is here. All I'm asking for is what nearly every other game already does: Match players based on skill not artificial goal metrics like "Win count". So again nice speech but just...whatever. Miracles? Please! lol.

  • I too play other shooters. Battlefield, call of duty, counter-strike, unreal tournament, quake, doom, Halo, OverWatch. Do you know what they all have in common with destiny? Their systems are very similar to each other. You're always going to have that hierarchy of player skill. You're always going to have to improve yourself. Your mistakes are your own. Compared to other shooters, Destiny is easier to play. Sure, my opinion. This is me coming from games that pre-date the destiny franchise. You have so many things in play that it almost feels like the gun shoots itself. You don't get that kind of thing with the aforementioned shooters. If you guys want to change the system in play, you not only have to learn a new system, you're still not understanding the fact that you need to get better as a player. You cannot sit there and expect to not improve but call for improvements elsewhere. That's what I mean when I talk about you guys ask for handouts. You want the systems to change around you so you can have a better time. You don't want to put in the work. Hence when I say "The miracle" part. Like, it's funny to you but this is the reality. You unintentionally intend this to happen.
