Mother’s Day
Well. Lads, ladies, things, Mother’s Day approaches and as usual mom is not making the meal. Typically dad does most of the heavy lifting and we just prepare the accouterments. This year he asked me and my youngest brother to figure it out. My brother has the culinary instincts of a Protozoa, and I love too cook.
Ergo I am in charge and because I may be a bit of a control freak and hate cleaning dishes I have elected to take care of it myself.
Here’s what we are having
Starting off with a caprese salad: tomato, basil, mozzarella, balsamic, and oil.
Next is a Venetian soup.
After that we are having steak with a garlic herb compound butter and smashed potatoes (not mashed, smashed).
We conclude our meal with panna cotta topped with a mixed berry compote.
What are y’all doing?

After that go home and clean up from the day and probably grill some backstrap up for a bed of rice and gravy, assorted mixed veggies and get the kiddos to bed. Then activities that made us parents all those years ago.

3 RespuestasPizza at grandma's tomorrow. My mother and I will be flying out to Washington state saturday to visit my brother and some other family for a week. Gonna stay in a cabin, do a lot of hiking, walk on a cold beach and stare into the abyss, maybe do some tourist -blam!- in some cities, and I might even write something who knows?
