A) you didn’t pay for the content, only the right to play it. They say I’m the terms and service that they have the right to change/remove content as they please. B) why did you pay for the content and wait 4 years to play it? Seems like a you problem.

  • I can go back to D1 and play all of the content I bought and it's a lot more than 4 years old.

  • D1 is no longer being updated as it reached an end point with the Rise of Iron and Age of Triumph. Destiny 2 is an actively developed live service game with planned yearly expansions scheduled through 2024 (The Witch Queen, Lightfall, The Final Shape).

  • I've played countless MMOs with way more content than d2 and they almost never delete content. It's a bad practice, even if the TOS allows it.

  • good thing Destiny is not those MMO's. It's not Bungie's fault you paid for something, never used it. I paid for a gallon of milk, waited 4 years, and it's no longer good? Milk I paid for should not spoil. Wha wha wha. That's how juvenile your crying sounds

  • You know that's not a fair comparison and you know it. Why defend removing stuff from a video game people paid for? I can name countless games with paid content more than 4 years old that you can still enjoy today. Like I said, it's a bad and anti consumer practice.

  • If you missed out it's not anyone's fault but your own. And it absolutely is a fair analogy. We pay for things all the time - only for it to end up in the trash. As Bungie has mentioned several times over the years - this game cannot grow infinitely. It's already an extremely large game file in comparison to others, and load times were ridiculous. How many of those games are on console? How many of those same games are over 100gb just for the base game, not including updates? What you can't compare are two completely different games. All you're doing is deflecting. It is definitely not anti-consumerism. Progress, moving forward - that's how business' operate.

  • Final fantasy 14 meets your requirements and is on PS4 and PS5. ESO is on PS and Xbox and they manage. Both of those games don't remove paid content pretty much ever as far as I'm aware. Why can they pull it off but not Bungie?

  • and yet, look at the queue times for FF. Is ESO has almost half the player base of Destiny, and content is not nearly as expansive.

  • what sounds like excuses is you and others crying about "paid content" being taken away. I'm listing out all the facts, and you call them "excuses" Laughable. I can guarantee you've paid for something that was no longer viable, or perished before you got to use it. Do you call the farmers immoral? You are entitled to nothing. If you didn't read the ToS, or don't agree with it, there's the door. Don't let it kick the tears out of your eyes on the way out

  • You asked for large games on console that didn't need to remove paid content. I gave them to you. You brought up queue times and player count as if that was relevant to the conversation when they're clearly not. That's making excuses. Stop comparing food to an entertainment product. Food has a natural shelf life. Digital entertainment does not. If I bought something from a farmer and they arbitrarily showed up at my house to take it back because I didn't eat it fast enough I would say that's immoral, yes. I don't care what the TOS says they can do. Removing content people paid for is a bad practice and people have a right to be upset and make their concerns known. I actually can't name another game that deletes paid content the way Bungie does with D2. The TOS says they can delete all of our characters tomorrow and then charge us to make new ones but if they did that I think people would have a right to be a little annoyed. I enjoy the game generally but that doesn't mean I have to agree with everything Bungie does forever.

  • You mention digital content and it's bad practice to remove stuff. Yet streaming service's are making more and more money each year. Bottom line is you don't own the content and agreed to the tos.

  • You can't compare a subscription service to paid content in a video game.

  •
You can't compare a subscription service to paid content in a video game.
It's been said over and over and it still goes over your head. You didn't pay for the content. The comparison is very relevant. In both cases you pay for a licence/subscription to access the content provided. Those providing it set terms which in both cases says more or less that you don't own the content and it can be removed.

  • yes you did provide that - but none of them come close to the amount of content and player base as Destiny. But I get it now - you're one of those guys who think because you bought a chick a drink, that you're entitled to get into her pants. Explains a lot about you

FF14 has a comparable playerbase and way more content than D2. The fact that you're making nonsensical personal attacks against me shows you don't have a good argument. You're embarrassing yourself. You should just stop.

Only thing that can be done is trying to show the one doing or saying stupid things that they don't have leg to stand on. Yet here you convinced you do.

Yes, and people can spend hours in queues. So, just because you can't accept that things go away, whether we pay for them or not, then you are the one making a fool of yourself. We ca-blam!- to disagree, but don't act like a tool. If you're going to spend this much energy on complaining about something that's already done - then go play your FF14 - no one needs a cry baby

  • You just said that they don't have the playerbase or content that destiny does and then turn around and say the game has so many players that queues are too long? I think I made my point. I'm done.

comparable, albeit Destiny has about 4-5 million more. FF14 has long queue times because of overflow of content. You've made no point other than that you are are a whiner who continues to play a game that he complains about. If you really want to make a point, quit the game, uninstall. Otherwise, shut it, and stop the complaining
