You've sunk to a new low Bungie, you outta be ashamed of yourselves
EDIT: Eververse is for cash transactions between the player and Bungie
Inventory is for interactions between your character and the game world
I am upset because Bungie pulled a sleazy marketing trick by putting an ad for a cash transaction in my inventory when it belongs in Eververse
Why?
Here's the nuts and bolts
Bungie puts T shirt ad in Eververse:
Player sees ad
Player decides they don't want to buy a T shirt
Player ignores ad and continues playing

Bungie puts T shirt in inventory
Player sees ad
Player decides they don't want to buy a T shirt
Player goes to delete ad because inventory space is important to them
Player can't delete ad because Bungie programmed ad to be undeleteable
Player reads description telling them to go to Bungie.net to redeem
Player goes to Bungie.net to remove ad from inventory
Player tries and tries to remove ad from inventory but there IS no way to remove ad
Player gives up and begins to look at merchandise
Player is now more likely to make a purchase
Player may even begin to justify the purchase
"Well I guess it's pretty cool, and I get my inventory space back"
This is why it's in your inventory, not in eververse
This is why you cannot delete it
This is how Bungie increases the likely hood of making a sale
EDIT: I just want to clarify what I am and am not saying
Bungie is in the business of making money, I get.
After finishing VoG a screen popped up saying 'Congrats, you beat the raid, go buy some crap from Eververse' -that's fine, show me the ad, if I wanna buy some crap, I go buy some crap, if not I hit X and the ad goes away.
Same when I got the Vex, screen popped up 'Congrats, you got the Vex, give us $8 and we'll make it silver' -that's fine, I wanna pay $8, I get a silver Vex, if not I hit X and the ad goes away
But This, This is something completely different. This is crossing a line. When you collect the "T SHIRT UNLOCKED AT BUNGIE STORE" triumph you receive an item that goes to your inventory that tells you to visit Bungie.net to claim your reward. This item CANNOT be discarded. You can no longer carry 50 items in your inventory. This item holds your 50th inventory slot ransom until you go to Bungie.net and buy their shirt. This is NOT a simple ad screen between activities, this is we're going to impede a function of your game, the game you pay $100 a year to play, until you buy our shirt.
You want to put an ad after an activity, great
I get an exotic and an ad pops up informing me I can buy an ornament, fine
But hindering my game play in any way, even if it is 'only one inventory slot' is not OK in my book
Keep the gameplay seperated from the cash shop! I should never lose game features so Bungie can sell more T shirts. Period
The shirt does look cool, but that's not the point
Thank you
