As someone who's tried solo trials the last three weeks, I can firmly say it's simply not worth it. The matchmaking will give you stacked duo's or triples in almost every match, so you're already playing at a massive disavantage in the majority of your matches so overcoming that 7 times in a row, while possible, is incredibly unrealistic.
Bungie, you keep releasing figures for trials - can you say how many people that went flawless were solo players? I'd expect it to be low anyway, but I suspect it's ridiculously low. In that case, what's the actual incentive for solo players to be cannon fodder in this mode? The loot rewards are 'meh' at best and the time investment isn't anywhere near on par with the output.
Bungie admit the mode needs solo players but that's the rub - solo players, funnily enough, don't tend to like getting stomped by stacked teams so until that matchmaking is fixed in some way, I don't really see why any solo player would want to set foot in there.
As for the new mode - personally I don't mind that. If the matchmaking wasn't shafting me 80% of the time I'd probably actually enjoy it.

1 RespuestaThe trials changes DO NOT suddenly turn you into a pvp god, they just added matchmaking and easier loot. I don’t know why so many of you have trouble with this concept.

You’re right, played one game to figure that out. This guy kept running pass the zone trying to 1v3 and died every single time. I said nah, and dashboard quit. I’ll wait for a team.

Unless you are SO good that you can hard-carry teams and consistently win 1v2s and 1v3s? Not a reasonable expectation to go flawless from solo queue. Datto was show footage of him literally backpacking blueberries in solo queue…and the best he could do was win about every third or fourth game. Things may change if there’s a freelance list…but until then?

solo trials is a way for people to get acquainted with the mode and possibly find a team to attempt a light house run, or just to get trials gear in general. It's not really expected that someone going in solo will get to the lighthouse and it's like being under power level while trying to solo a master nightfall, possible, but not without the person being exceptional. I've bassically only been solo since the option became available, the rewards are great and its a very good way to get better in the mode itself, before these past three weeks i'd bassically have to find people willing to deal with a sandbag, now though i can get my own rewards while improving so that when i do try to go flawless with a team, im not going to be completely clueless. though i will say going flawless... isn't rewarding in general. you get 1 or 2 guns, a few cores and a couple prisms with a chance at an ascendant shard while bieng put into a pool where repeats are unlikely. compare this to GM nightfalls: you're showered in gun drops and will only get faster with clearing them, soon enough capped out on resources to masterwork anything you find remotely intresting.

3 RespuestasSolo players are not intended to go flawless, the entire point of solo que was for players to TRY the mode. Not earn the highest tier rewards from it. It's simple Want flawless? Find a team Want rep for loot? Play solo

Editado por Gul'dan: 9/27/2021 5:27:29 PMI don't agree. After reaching 7 wins (on a card, not in a row) and having legendary crucible + trials ranks i'm getting showered with rewards, literally masterworked a bunch of my items today, my win frequency is around 20-30% but it still pays off GREATLY to win from time to time. It's much faster than grinding pve. And I changed my mentality, i'm not going to sweat to win, instead of that I took fightinglion and i'm blocking mid lane 24/7 just to be a toxic -blam!- xD BUT that was only possible as of today, since flawless pool matchmaking kicked in, before that i had like 10% wins

Starting to feel that way. I’ve played solo for close to 3 hours now. Sitting at 4 wins. Got the trials pinnacle and 3 umbral engrams Doesn’t feel like my time is respected. Granted I’m a bullet sponge for stacks in full after gear but it wouldn’t hurt to drop weapons every so often

"Solo players are a key to making it work" - Last week's TWAB. Which is strange from a game-company that sets up Soloplaying to failure throughout the entire game. Here were set up to be farmed - in their own words - so mid tier teams can go Flawless. No thanks Bungie. I expect they'll be rejecting and reneging on any chance of Freelance Trials at the first opportunity.
-
I can very much agree with that. I am also a solo player and started playing trials for the first time this season. The first week was OK, not great but got some decent matches. The second week was already less fun but this week was brutal. A lot of games against teams of 2 or three players and as an effect, a lot of 0-5 or 1-5 losses. That being said, I have the armor set on two characters and all the weapons (minus the adapt versions obviously) and once I have the full set of armor on my third character, I will abandon trials again as there is nothing else for me to play for.

Trials is end game pvp just with matchmaking now.. so expect to get paired against teams. Cant be such an introvert if you want to have success unless you're able to carry 90% of your games! I see people asking for freelance... that's not going to help anything.. that's going to cause the player pool to be divided up.. it might make for a few easier matches but is that really what end game pvp should be?? Dumbed down and easy?? Should we apply the same logic to say mater VoG... like put in a solo cue list there too.. but take away alot of the hard mechanics cause we want to do it without coms

Editado por PS1 Hagrid: 9/27/2021 4:59:18 PMLike I keep saying, they need to rotate the old weapons and armor in so we can get "new" stuff for once. I've already gotten god rolls on all the weapons except adept and I've unlocked all of this series of armor as ornaments, I really want the old stuff which apparently Xur sells it but I haven't seen it to believe it. I understand this won't necessarily fix anything since ppl might get the old stuff in a single week anyways, but at least we had the opportunity to get "new" stuff for once besides having the same weapons and armor.
-
I will admit I am hoping to get the scar sword with either vorpal or chain reaction. Once I have that, honestly it's true, trials isn't rewarding enough to bother with. I'm not going flawless, I don't care about going flawless. I mean sword that throws a fireball and makes things explode as you kill them. That is the /only/ thing I am playing this game mode for.
-
I managed to get a full set of armour and weapons except adept versions. It was massively painful going through 1-2 wins in 10-12 games. I have what I wanted and will leave it alone now till freelance mm comes in and will give it a test but I can’t see it improving. I personally think sbmm should be brought back in the form of maybe a league based game.
