My name has been auto-switched to Guardian#XXXX, and there's nothing I can do about it?
So apparently my Steam name was tagged as not compliant to Code of Conduct. As it has never been offensive by any means, I'm confused as to how this happened. Also, there appears to be no way to appeal this, and I'm now stuck with the generic name for who knows how long!
Anyone facing this issue? Is there any way to reach out to see why this happened?

I don't quite get it, when swapping over to steam from Bnet, my name had ALWAYS been Vaellie, on all accounts, and it's been changed to guardian. Vaellie is just a respelling of the spanish word Valle, which means valley, I am confused lol

I'd love it if someone could start a list of auto-switch names for those that are [b][i]NOT[/i][/b] clearly improper - or at least (in good faith) believe they're not. I'd be fine with it if they at least investigated the possibility that there may be a bug in their algorithm and then update the community with their finding (either yay or nay) instead of stark silence. My name across all platforms (and I do mean all; Sony, Microsoft, Steam, Nintendo, Stadia, Luna, Blizzard, etc.) is [b]-blam!-[/b]. I created it about 20 years ago in an effort to be unique enough to secure it for everything. There's nothing inherently bad about it. I've never been one to be clever about internet handles/tags/etc. Inferring any malice in my Bungie Name is just stretching IMHO but that's just my opinion. ;) I also hope they provide some guidance when they do release the name change feature.

Until that is released there is no way to change or appeal the name you were assigned upon first logging into season 15. You'll have to wait until the name change feature is released. Also, Bungie names are limited in types of characters. You have some non-standard star characters which is probably what prompted it to change it to Guardianxxxx.
